Title: Surnames (How funny are they?)
Post by: MPOWER on August 26, 2006, 12:44:20 AM
Well I did laugh today, the enquiry team at work passed me a customer
in our showroom and his was Mr Noblet. Sorry for being childish
but I PMSL. I could not look him in the eye without giggling like a girl.
He was a very nice chap.

How bad would your Surname need to be before you changed it.

I know a guy Mark Bacon, married a lady called Christie. He changed
his surname to Ryan.

Regards

M

We had a teacher at school whose name was Miss Pratt, naturally we figured that when she got married she would pick a bloke with a sensible name.

One year we welcomed her back to school as a married woman: her new name? "Mrs. Nettleship."

Probably a step up, but us kids didn't think it was by much...

Nothing really... he asked me once "Sophie I heard you fancy Mr Bartle is that true?".. my reply... "Yeah!...and you!" (Then I ran away). But there was one time I was locked ina classroom whilst Mr Bond was outside because someone had spread a rumour that I was writing a love letter to him ??? and the school teachers were worried! Me and my friend Terri always used to make comments at him in class with reference to sex etc and he used to get so embarrassed!

Oh dear... I was such a goon!

Another one I've just remembered; my doctor's name (when I was very young) was Xavier, because I was little and didn't hear it properly I thought he was called "Dr. Save-You".

A very appropriate name for a doctor, I thought... :)

Obviously fictional, but these names where mentioned in Meet the Fockers:

Randy & Orny Focker

Marther Focker

On a side note, the board of clasification were not going to allow the movie title unless they could find someone called Focker, that exact spelling. You think it would be easy, just go to Germany. But most people would spell it fokker!

as long as you're just putting surnames and no context I'm sure you're fine.  There are a couple of names I've come across in work that I would love to post, but I'd be breaking the offical secrets act :(
