saw muse last night and reckon they're probably the best band i've ever seen live, along with the pixies and nirvana. just wondered about my fellow blondeites' fave concerts. also, who would you like to see, living or dead. i'd go for jimi, janis joplin or miles davis

They're winding it up, I think - at least that's what Norman said when he was interviewed at the V Festival this month.

It's a musical about Imelda Marcos, of all things. But I don't care what it's about - it's Byrne and Fatboy Slim, if it's not fantastic then something is seriously wrong.

(Mind you, they probably said something similar when Paul Simon did 'The Capeman'...  ;hide; )

Won't get me wet unless he's shamelessly included Life During Wartime somewhere  :D

I saw muse at glasto 04 and the following year at v and they are truly amazing.


we had tickets for this but my friends vw camper van broke down on the way, we eventually got there and they had been on 10 minutes so we sold our tickets to some bloke for £220 and a spliff and went out in london on the proceeds. We also figured out a way to scam the AA into towing us back home for a fraction of the £400 it should have cost.

Radiohead at V this year with beck on before was the business.

But without doubt seeing Guns and Roses at wembley when i was 15 was a truly mindblowing experience for a bunch of kids our age.

best live band for me are the Stereophonics.  Not too keen on their more recent stuff, but when the belt out the tracks from the first two albums they are spot on.

The best i've seen live were Madness in Finsbury park 1991/2 and Oasis at Knebworth 1996/7. Oasis were great and the support bands were also awsome, Kula Shaker, The Charlatans, Manic Street Preachers , Cast and Chemical Brothers.

Discharge - 100 Club

Killing Joke - Lyceum

Crass - Starlight Club, West Hampstead

Tuesdays at the 100 club, Sundays at the Lyceum - enjoyed those times.

Only ever saw one stadium type thing Guns n Roses supported by Soul Asylum, Blind Melon and the Cult at Milton Keynes - was a great event in many ways, not least for Blind Melon and Cult's one or two decent tunes. Guns n Roses were'nt too bad too.

A lot of bands I'd like to see today but of them only experiencing a big Korn concert is something I feel I have to do.

Bands you didn't see.... always wished I'd seen Nirvana and The Smiths in their pomp.

Blind Melon are a great band.  "I Wonder" has a cool guitar part in the intro.  Shannon Hoon was a good singer

Echo and the Bunnymen Edinburgh playhouse - 1984 simply brilliant!

I'd like to see Elvis, living, holding a copy of todays paper while I take a photograph.

 i have a few favourites , top of the list is Oasis dont believe the hype tour , White Stripes - White Elephant and Greenday

 American Idiot. razorlight , snoop dogg , kasabian and kaiser chiefs are up there but they are my top 3.

Prince at Hammersmith Odeon was pretty awesome. Bowie at the NEC on his last tour about 3 years ago was more than a little special. David Lee Roth always very entertaining live.
As for shows I would have liked to see, I never forgave myself for not going to the first Live Aid when I could have had tickets at face value. I also would have loved to go to Donington Monsters of Rock 1984 to see AC/DC, The Mighty Van Halen, Motley Crue, Accept, Gary Moore, Ozzy Ozbourne and Y&T. Possibly the greatest rock line up ever assembled in the UK.

I wanted to go to that. Unfortunately I was only 12 at the time and couldn't get in.  My Sister went and I still have the ticket somewhere . 

i washed a pair of trousers with my ticket in it for this gig, i went down to the barras  with some paper pulp in a matchbox, i showed it to  a bouncer at the door who laughed and let me in to see the ticket booth women inside the building, she also laughed and gave me a pass to go in, i didnt need to queue outside, result

It was on  Mon 24th May 1993. Special Guest were Tool and Wool .  You paid £7.50 for the ticket and you were a lucky bugger for getting to see that gig  :D

I saw Muse last night too :D Bloody good eh! 

They are definatly up there and I've seen some great gigs.  Janes Addiction at Brixton we're amazing too, for me but my all time fave so far is Rammstein at Brixton.  Nothing else compares to the show they put on.  Words can't really describe a Rammstein set except to say it involves fire, a whopping industrial looking set, loads of fire, flamethrowers, cauldrens, rubber dingeys (spelling?) and more fire.  I left speachless.

Muse are on my 'to see' list - have heard they are great live.

That was another good festival I went too (Not Barrowlands) but I saw RATM followed by Prodigy at Reading - that was truely a wonderful moment.  That whole Reading festival was just great, wonderful memories.

You definatly should.  I don't know what it is but some 3 piece bands generate such a big sound and have amazing live sets.  In particular I mean Muse and Placebo - both just kick ass.

Oh and I'm off to see Rancid in November - one of the best bassists in the world plays for them and if you are into that sort of thing, it's a must see gig too.

would love to see placebo too - I used to have a big crush on Brian Molko :)

i once played golf with the manager of rage against the machine and he said when they first started out they where very political and had all these views, now days there just after the money witch i had to laugh at.

When i was very young, like 12 i saw the SMITHS, it pretty much changed my life and opened up music to me. I still love my older sister for bringing that into my life. Morrissey is always fun to go watch live. Stone roses were awsome start of 90's.

Also Placebo I have seen a few times as my friend promotes them.

I loved the Stone Roses live.  Ian Brown can't sing for toffee, but his voice just suited the music.  Always played a great set.

I am listening to an Alice in Chains album right now.  Old but good
