if he flopped a set it's hard to imagine him check-calling the turn on that 7x8hTh  board but I guess it depends how tricky and risktaking the villain is, I sometimes do mad stuff like that to disguise a big hand.

I call against most people then jump out the window. $150 to call to win $450. You need to be right in this decission more than 1/3 of the time to make it profitable.

Call - for me. i'm putting him on 2 pair here.  Over pair to the board and the 2's.

I would fold.

The turn check and river raise smell fishy.  If he had an overpair why check the turn and then flat call your bet ?  If he had an overpair in this spot I would expect him to bet out or check raise.  If he is trying to steal why check and call the turn ?

I would either fold or put him all-in in this spot.  He only has $65 left and if you are in front you want to get full value. 

Unless you know your opponent is a muppet and managed to make a set of 2's on the river the action on the turn makes it a fold on the river for me.

It\'s 6-max and he open raised from the SB, he could pretty much have anything at that stage.

I can imagine the villain taking this line with something like deuce-nine or deuce of heart-random of heart.

PF: Standard steal
Flop: Standard C-bet
Turn: Pick up a draw, check-call.
River: Check raise trips.

But with no read on the villain who knows.

Are you using any tracker software? Theres plenty of stats that PokerTracker collects that would help you immensely with this hand!
6-max brings these tough decisions much more than full ring so reads are very important.

happily call every single time...where as I would fold the low straight in your other thread..with the nut straight it's a call every time. Sure the Full house beats you but come on...you get great pot odds and I reckon it's all yours.

Regardless of correct odds etc, online in this situation you are almost always beat (85%/15% i estimate).

Someone should look that up in there poker tracker, how many times do you win after calling a check raise on the river with a paired board?

I play with mugs so that might indeed have something to do with my opinion...I have seen plenty of people make the check raise move with the set Aces with a half decent (not on the board) kicker....

I'm not saying he should fold, just that in my experience against decent players you are likely in big trouble here. I'd still call probably.

He had J-9

I didn't put him on a set, and then the full house - he played it way too slow to have this hand - not many players bet out a set after raising preflop and then check the turn and river.

I thought he was trying to steal with something like J-Q or a missed flush draw (A-K suited or something), I certainly didn't expect him to have the same hand as me.

Typical contrary player. i.e. bets when he has nothing and then slows down as soon as he has something. That's why i thought the 10 helped him.

The way the hand panned out meant he could well have been sitting on a fullhouse tens overs two, but there was too much in the pot to fold for $150.
