Title: rule book Post by: Pontecarlo on August 29, 2006, 05:35:15 PM during the live games i organise and play in we occassionally have a a situation where i need to make a ruling, i dont proffes to getting them right 100% of the times but i gaurantee that i will be as fair and impartial as i can
most are ettiquette but occassionally a ruling crops up - i am pretty experienced and most times my ruling is accepted ,however i am thinking of writing a set of guidlines , however there doesent seem to be a rule book to refer to what do the TD`s use ? and what is the best "book" to purchase and regarding rules that differ from place to place , there is nothing more frustrating than making a ruling and it being disputed because they dont play it ike that at XXX casino/cardroom- why is there such a difference thanks Title: Re: rule book Post by: Dewi_cool on August 29, 2006, 05:43:13 PM Carl, have a look at this ,might not cover all rules, but a start nonetheless;

Title: Re: rule book Post by: Sheriff Fatman on August 29, 2006, 06:33:38 PM Do a search for 'Robert's Rules of Poker' - this is a version drafted by poker author and player Bob Ciaffone in an attempt to get standardised rules.
Its a fairly comprehensive set of rules which you can print out, although there will no doubt be situations which it doesn't cover specifically. Title: Re: rule book Post by: dik9 on August 30, 2006, 12:25:39 AM Roberts rules and TDA rules are pretty basic and simple, by far the most informative rule site (goes into a greater detail, and more scenarios) Is Caro and Cookes http://www.poker1.com/mcu/mculib_rules.asp Hope this helps. It gives a number of alternative rules used in california/nevada/riverboats down to preference. Ideally APAT will come up with the book in time :)

This is also pretty basic but I've found it very useful. |
