Title: High stakes poker in London!! Post by: Woodsey on August 29, 2006, 09:11:46 PM I am just watching Jennifer Harman on Full tilt, and she is talking about an episode of HSP they are filming in London next week. Sounds interesting I wonder if any Brits/europeans are playing?
Title: Re: High stakes poker in London!! Post by: ariston on August 29, 2006, 10:05:38 PM there is only one brit playing in this as far as I'm aware and it will make great viewing. He is a friend of blonde and has posted on here before so I'm sure he will come on to give details himself.
Title: Re: High stakes poker in London!! Post by: Jim-D on August 29, 2006, 10:07:29 PM Oooooooohh is it DeWolfe? if it is then it will be great viewing!!!
Title: Re: High stakes poker in London!! Post by: ariston on August 29, 2006, 10:28:17 PM please lets not go down the route of guessing the player until we find out by process of elimination. I am sure the publicity shy type he is he will come on here himself and its not my place to name him. He will make fantastic viewing and I think he can certainly be more than a match for the big american names. No its not roland but thats the last thing I will post on this thead.
Title: Re: High stakes poker in London!! Post by: Jim-D on August 29, 2006, 10:29:47 PM Ok thankyou.

Title: Re: High stakes poker in London!! Post by: Colchester Kev on August 29, 2006, 11:08:43 PM i reckon its one of the mob, with their deal with full tilt it would make sense .... now which one ??
Title: Re: High stakes poker in London!! Post by: Colchester Kev on August 29, 2006, 11:09:34 PM Its me really ... im just trying the old smoke screen trick ;)
Title: Re: High stakes poker in London!! Post by: Sark79 on August 29, 2006, 11:10:11 PM Is it Colchester Kev or tikay of the telly?
Title: Re: High stakes poker in London!! Post by: Woodsey on August 29, 2006, 11:10:18 PM Ram would have the bankroll, and because its an american show I'm sure they will have approached the Devilfish. A top scandie would probably be in order aswell.
Title: Re: High stakes poker in London!! Post by: TightEnd on August 29, 2006, 11:11:34 PM Sark?
Title: Re: High stakes poker in London!! Post by: brad.strider on August 29, 2006, 11:12:06 PM i will go for tony bloom
Title: Re: High stakes poker in London!! Post by: byronkincaid on August 29, 2006, 11:12:23 PM Ram's never posted on blonde has he? I'm not sure if he's even posted on THM :D he would seem to be the obvious person tho.

Post by: Woodsey on August 29, 2006, 11:14:27 PM i will go for tony bloom I agree, and maybe a frenchie, someone like bruno fitoussi? Title: Re: High stakes poker in London!! Post by: Sark79 on August 29, 2006, 11:16:58 PM Sark? I was asked to make an appearance. Unfortunately, as well as having absolutely no poker ability, the date clashed with my weekly shop at ASDA. Maybe next time though, they still have my phone number Title: Re: High stakes poker in London!! Post by: Nem on August 29, 2006, 11:23:05 PM John Gale ;D
Title: Re: High stakes poker in London!! Post by: riverdave on August 29, 2006, 11:40:38 PM My best guess would be Tony Bloom got the roll and the skills for it, Ram too, would make excellent viewing as well. I'm assuming it's holdem only as per the US version so could be fun to see The DevilFish get eaten alive.
Title: Re: High stakes poker in London!! Post by: riverdave on August 30, 2006, 12:01:20 AM John Gale ;D Great tourney player but where does the queue start?? Title: Re: High stakes poker in London!! Post by: Nem on August 30, 2006, 12:06:49 AM Daivd Benyamine has to be there.
Title: Re: High stakes poker in London!! Post by: Ironside on August 30, 2006, 12:08:48 AM it has to be a wiseowl
Title: Re: High stakes poker in London!! Post by: TightEnd on August 30, 2006, 12:09:16 AM none of Antonius, Boeken, Sagstrom etc?
Title: Re: High stakes poker in London!! Post by: riverdave on August 30, 2006, 12:16:05 AM it has to be a wiseowl Another good possibility. Shipley would of been a possible but not the self publicist mentioned by Ariston. Process of eliminaton and fitting various clues leads me to Harry or Tony and i'm not sure if Tony has posted here before. Title: Re: High stakes poker in London!! Title: Re: High stakes poker in London!! Post by: Simon Galloway2 on August 30, 2006, 09:57:40 PM Wonder where it will be filmed? With UK gambling laws as they are it wouldn't be advisable to rent a suite a la Golden Nugget. So, a Salon Privee somewhere? Does that mean that an audience will be permitted? Anyone know?
Title: Re: High stakes poker in London!! Post by: Dingdell on August 30, 2006, 10:53:41 PM Dingdell? I'm a lady don't you know - but I have been told in the past I make great viewing........now behave - you are a married man Title: Re: High stakes poker in London!! Title: Re: High stakes poker in London!! Post by: Dubai on August 31, 2006, 02:39:00 AM Just spoke to Gryko and its definitely him. He has a $200,000 bankroll and he is going to risk all of it on a no limit holdem cash game. I think he is mad, but he reckons as long as he keeps his M above 30 he has a massive edge.

Good luck to him, maybe he can sell a bit of himself? I would have thought that only having 2 buyins versus folks with more than 10 times that amount blunts any edge, i hope he rips them up though. Title: Re: High stakes poker in London!! Post by: Dubai on August 31, 2006, 02:45:36 AM I offered to buy 1% for $500, but he reckons his edge is bigger.

Title: Re: High stakes poker in London!! Post by: Div on August 31, 2006, 07:45:55 PM That is some line-up, but I thought Chris Ferguson didn't play cash?
Title: Re: High stakes poker in London!! Post by: MrMoves on August 31, 2006, 07:53:59 PM I will probably be there to watch it live (lucky me) time permitting. Should be fun.
Title: Re: High stakes poker in London!! Post by: Woodsey on August 31, 2006, 11:06:32 PM That is some line-up, but I thought Chris Ferguson didn't play cash? I heard phil Ivey talking about it on full tilt and it sounds as if it is being used as some sort of full tilt promotion, hence chris fergsons presence Title: Re: High stakes poker in London!! Post by: Sark79 on September 01, 2006, 08:28:18 AM There are two types of Blonde. There is the "hair" colour blonde and the "Tikay" Blonde. One is a poker player, the other is blonde purely on the colour of their hair. However, sometimes there can be a combination of the hair colour blonde and the poker player blonde. Pamela Anderson fits into this category as she plays at Doyle's Room.
Hopefully this clears up any confusion :D |
