Title: Re: Man Bags Post by: Claw75 on August 31, 2006, 10:47:45 PM loads of guys carry them on the tube. Better than briefcases.
Title: Re: Man Bags Post by: Ginger on August 31, 2006, 10:52:26 PM About time more men started using them! Most womens bags all full of their man's junk already (let alone all ours) get your own!

It is looking good in the wsop coverage aswell, I'm suprised i was'nt asked for an interview just over the bag... I was stopped once last year by an american gangster to ask where i got it from! No price worth selling it for though... Title: Re: Man Bags Post by: Junior Senior on September 01, 2006, 11:02:08 AM Being a diabetic, i have shit loads of stuff to carry around with me wherever i go such as blood testing kits, needles, insulin, glucose tablets, cereal bars. In summer it gets worse when the hayfever kicks in and i have to carry around eye drops, nose spray, tablets, an inhaler etc etc. - oh, and not to mention the normal stuff like ipod, phone, wallet, diary, pen etc etc. so you can imagine that if i try and cram all this stuff in my pockets then i can look a little deformed around the hip and bottom regions so i have always carried a man-bag around with me (a kind of survival kit come lifestyle case).
for the past 6 years i seem to have been a one man crusade for the acceptance of man-bags into northern english culture. - trust me, its not easy when your from a working class mining town!! and the only fellas that carry bags are "doctors and poofs"! - the looks you get from the skin heads down the local shopping centre are enough to send you running to the ladies lavs. When i lived in london it was fine as it is more cosmopoliton and open minded in them parts and a bloke with a bag just blends in, same goes for when i was at univeristy and school - just jam everything you need into your satchel and off you go - no questions asked! Now its a bit different. I have always said to my mates that they should get one and we could start a trend and try to introduce a kind of man with bag = ok culture but they all just laughed at me and claimed it would never take off! - well, 6 years on and who's laughing now. - the guradian wrote a feature on it a few months ago, richard and judy had them modelled on their show the other week, my best mate has just bought one, every other bloke you see has got one and its no longer deemed feminine to carry your stuff in a nice manly looking bag. At-it is right, poker players love them - if your all day at a poker comp then surely you want something to put your ipod, phone, fags, lighter, money, fan etc in and what better than a lovely over the shoulder bag?! - At-it's got one, I've got more than one, Rob Yong carries one, as does that sandal-wearing surf lover Thewy! - so come on fellas, get aboard the band wagon and get yourself a man bag! - ther's no shame in it!! :D Title: Re: Man Bags Post by: ifm on September 01, 2006, 11:08:25 AM What's wrong with cramming so much stuff into your pockets you can't sit down? :D
Title: Re: Man Bags Post by: I, Zimbra on September 01, 2006, 11:50:40 AM I have a rucksack that's served me well for the last fifteen years! :D

Mine is an excellent version of the man bag... modelled on ESPN this year, i think lennox wanted to buy it off me. Thought u must have set this thread up when I saw the title! I have a kind of laptop case that i use for work, dont carry my laptop to and from work in it but it does make a nice oversize holder for my phone wallet and ipod, thats pretty much all I have in it! Man-bags are extremely useful, especially when travelling, but lets all realise there is a line out there that should not be crossed on these! Title: Re: Man Bags Post by: Bainn on September 01, 2006, 01:11:46 PM Okay, this whole man bag debacle has got me wondering.
What classes as a man bag ? Any pictures of examples or link to online shop selling them? Title: Re: Man Bags Post by: Junior Senior on September 01, 2006, 01:15:03 PM hmmmm. - line no to be crossed. - i would never dance round it on a saturday night in a nightclub :D but it would come to the pub with me for an afternoon drink and some grub.

For example it should not have any sparkly bits or be intentionaly coordinated with an outfit! It should be a shoulder strap that lets the bag hang by your waist, not tight under your arm or hooked on at the elbow! Your main motivation for a man bag must be functionality! Title: Re: Man Bags Post by: North Angel on September 01, 2006, 02:40:50 PM Man bags excellent idea, only so many things a man can cram into his pockets
without looking like he has abnormal size hips. http://www.purseuing.com/bags/man-bags/ (http://www.purseuing.com/bags/man-bags/) Ang x x Title: Re: Man Bags Post by: Newmanseye on September 01, 2006, 02:47:58 PM First bloke I saw with a mens bag was Indiana Jones, So when you stole your grandad's hat and your mums old shoulder bag and started climbing over the neighbours wall and under bushes, dodging imaginary spears and pretending the grass was booby trapped!!
People still though you would turn out gay because you were playing with a bag!! A little off topic but there we go. Title: Re: Man Bags Post by: Sark79 on September 01, 2006, 02:49:07 PM Being a diabetic, i have shit loads of stuff to carry around with me wherever i go such as blood testing kits, needles, insulin, glucose tablets, cereal bars. I am the same as you mate. I wear a big jacket with really deep pockets, as I hate carrying things. It is abit annoying if I am meeting my mates in town and am going out for the evening. Most of the time I am going to be staying the night at one of their houses, so usually carry my insulin with me. In one pocket it is my Humalog and the other it is my night time Humulin. I find a jacket is the best way to do this.
