Title: Should I call this? Post by: Meatman00 on September 02, 2006, 12:49:16 AM Right This happened to me when there were 13 players left in a 500 pound freezeout.
Top 10 paid, 11th 12th would have got there buyins back so really, next out is the worst position. Guy Under the Gun raises all in for a stack of 130k (A Solid Player). Im sitting with 120lk with average sack around 110k. Fold Fold and to me on the button, I look down at QQ. Now I consider my options and after much thought I folded, but when I showed my hand most people thought I should have called. The initial raiser showed his AK. Should I have folded? Title: Re: Should I call this? Post by: jezza777 on September 02, 2006, 01:29:06 AM I need to know the blinds but I would say a tight fold, AA and KK get played less aggressivley here I think so a applicable range would be AK and JJ down . QQ is possible but we know where 2 queens are so unlikley. I would say QQ is too big to fold in this spot tho in a sat I may fold it.
Title: Re: Should I call this? Post by: action man on September 02, 2006, 05:45:27 AM call here, u gotta expect KK or AA to try and find action by raising smaller, if he's got KK or AA he's lucky to find you with QQ, 'good luck to him' :D
Title: Re: Should I call this? Post by: Royal Flush on September 02, 2006, 08:07:16 AM Short handed, QQ, a single raise, cold dead hands is what i would have for you to get me of QQ.
Title: Re: Should I call this? Post by: Bazzaboy on September 02, 2006, 12:36:47 PM Call all day long!!
Title: Re: Should I call this? Post by: Enzyme_ on September 02, 2006, 12:57:09 PM Call and see a flop ;)
Title: Re: Should I call this? Post by: Meatman00 on September 02, 2006, 01:57:54 PM I dont know if that was joke, but I couldnt call to see a flop. This was for all my chips.
Also I put him on either AK JJ and maybe 1010. So I knew if I called I was ahead, but If he has AK then im in more or less a coin flip, and plus I really didnt want to bubble. I understand what you say but the whole point is to get all of your chips in as a favourite, sometimes you get beaten but more often than not you don't. It is a straightforward call for me, i cannot pass up these kind of opportunities. Title: Re: Should I call this? Post by: bolt pp on September 02, 2006, 03:19:38 PM fold
Title: Re: Should I call this? Post by: ACE2M on September 02, 2006, 04:37:21 PM call all day everyday. Your trying to win the tournament and winning this if it is a coinflip (at worst by your read) sets you up very nicely.
If getting your buy in back is that important it will hinder your chances of winning greatly. Title: Re: Should I call this? Post by: The_nun on September 02, 2006, 04:46:01 PM I got my Pkt Q's busted twice yeasterday all in online mtt's...
Title: Re: Should I call this? Post by: totalise on September 02, 2006, 04:48:12 PM I got my Pkt Q's busted twice yeasterday all in online mtt's... yeah, but thats online. Big pairs lose more often online because they rig the software to let the bad players win more. Live is completely different Title: Re: Should I call this? Post by: The_nun on September 02, 2006, 04:49:20 PM Yes i have played live too.. 8)
Title: Re: Should I call this? Post by: totalise on September 02, 2006, 04:51:05 PM Yes i have played live too.. 8) so would you call with the Queen Queen not suited or would you fold and wait for a better spot? Title: Re: Should I call this? Post by: The_nun on September 02, 2006, 04:54:35 PM My choice on this occasion would have been call.
Title: Re: Should I call this? Post by: totalise on September 02, 2006, 04:59:38 PM me too
Title: Re: Should I call this? Post by: The_nun on September 02, 2006, 05:01:21 PM Like Jezza said , had it been a Sat.. then maybe fold to get placed, but i am there to win the game or go out fighting.. either way, I would still have been happy to go out with that hand or put myself well above avrg stacked. BTW ..did you win the tourny?...
Title: Re: Should I call this? Post by: Meatman00 on September 02, 2006, 06:22:43 PM Well for me I play the final 2 tables in a tournament like a satelitle. My main aim is to get to the final, short or big stack.
Title: Re: Should I call this? Post by: Meatman00 on September 02, 2006, 06:26:15 PM I did make it to the final with just under average stack, which I think is a good position to be in.
I didnt win, I finished 9th. Title: Re: Should I call this? Post by: The_nun on September 02, 2006, 06:44:00 PM I See... well at least you got what you wanted and got placed.. well done..x
Title: Re: Should I call this? Post by: NoflopsHomer on September 02, 2006, 07:11:45 PM I did make it to the final with just under average stack, which I think is a good position to be in. Making it with double the average stack is better. ;) Title: Re: Should I call this? Post by: snoopy1239 on September 03, 2006, 06:16:23 AM I'd call as too often these types of raises are made by J-J and A-K as players are partly scared to see a flop with them.
