Title: The Mindset while playing Poker Post by: M3boy on September 04, 2006, 04:06:04 AM One last thought before bed.
Tonight is truely the first time I have enjoyed playing MTT's online since the WSOP. All started with the Blonde Bash Freeroll (which I won) then a $20 comp on Full Tilt (which I also won) Made me remember a conversation I had with Pascal Tripple P while in Slovenia - he was taking about how when he 'thinks' he is going to win a pot , he does. He said to me its like 'knowing' what cards are coming. I now understand what he meant - not that he could actually 'make' his card appear, but that when you are enjoying the game for what it is, you play alot better, and subsequently get better results. How many of you have better results when enjoying the game rather than just playing ? Title: Re: The Mindset while playing Poker Post by: Christo! on September 04, 2006, 06:48:04 AM I find that I aslo play my best when im enjoying the tourney. I think, for me anyway, when I am enjoying the comp I am sub-conciously paying more attention, hence the better results.

Title: Re: The Mindset while playing Poker Post by: ACE2M on September 04, 2006, 11:42:13 AM Very, very true for me.
Currently no internet and itching to play. Got on at a friends house the other night and made FT in one tourney and won 4 of 6 stts. I was loving it and thinking correctly and concentrating which i always find makes the biggest difference. I always have the problem of getting far to complacent with a significant BR and not really enjoying it after a while and the results drop dramatically. Glad I am not the only one Title: Re: The Mindset while playing Poker Post by: Poppet7 on September 04, 2006, 02:32:32 PM I find it's the other way around! Like blondebash for example... If I'm enjoying myself I get distracted by things and end up doing something silly and getting knocked out!
Title: Re: The Mindset while playing Poker Post by: leighton_87 on September 04, 2006, 03:36:12 PM I agree enjoying the game improves your results. I went about 9 months without playing as couldn't get on via the university network, when I came home I was looking forward to playing my results were brilliant I was cashing regularly in MTT and making plenty in cash in ring games. This lasted about ten weeks but in the past few I've been playing out of habit, as a result I've been throwing money away. Having lost half the money I won I've decided to withdraw it all to stop me playing (I tried to have a break but couldn't with my money still in), hoping to start again in a few weeks feeling refeshed and eager to play.
