Title: El Blondie, The blondeites, & The Poker Den..... Post by: tikay on August 27, 2005, 03:36:54 PM OK, here's a deal that only blondeites can subscribe to.
Dave El Blondie Colclough will be playing the Poker Den this coming Friday. That's an £8,500 Buy-In, with about (pardon the vagueness) £50,000 to the winner. I have persuaded Dave, much against his better judgement, to sell a few shares in himself to any blondeites who are interested, so that we can all share in the fun. The Price? £500 per 5%. That gives Dave a bit of an edge, but I fancy he's gotta be pretty well certain to be the favourite anyway. The money must be paid in cash, or Bank Transfer (details will be available to interested parties by PM) no later than Wednesday. But please remember - this offer is open to blondeites ONLY...... To support Dave's offer, & anyone who takes up the offer, blonde will carry a full Live Update of Friday's Poker Den. Friday night should be fun! Title: Re: El Blondie, The blondeites, & The Poker Den..... Post by: TightEnd on August 29, 2005, 07:23:52 PM Ian is a decent London based player who had a big result in a Vic event in January I think. Top 10 in rankings, or was recently
solid, aware, under-rated but I too fancy DC's chances in this...Koresh is sh*t or bust, poker and gambling wise!! Title: Re: El Blondie, The blondeites, & The Poker Den..... Post by: I KNOW IT on September 02, 2005, 09:33:40 PM Even though El Blondie is a better player, Koresh seems to do well in the TV game format.
I wouldnt rule out Koreshs s chances. Any one know what has happened to EASYPEASY online, he was always good value Title: Re: El Blondie, The blondeites, & The Poker Den..... Post by: wsopin07 on September 02, 2005, 10:55:45 PM Koresh is a jerk off, DC will play him like a drum, I played this guy in Mayfair at the Celeb thing.
DC will win this, I offer my bracelet if he loses to one of these clowns, this will be what puts DC back on the winning trail. Hello to everyone, Rookie Title: Re: El Blondie, The blondeites, & The Poker Den..... Post by: byronkincaid on September 02, 2005, 10:58:04 PM I don't understand the £200 bet into a I think £1200 pot with QQ on a AJrag board. Can anyone explain it to me?
Title: Re: El Blondie, The blondeites, & The Poker Den..... Post by: Ironside on September 02, 2005, 10:58:45 PM it makes it look like a bet wanting to be called

Thanks, Rookie Title: Re: El Blondie, The blondeites, & The Poker Den..... Post by: ifm on September 02, 2005, 11:08:12 PM Koresh ain't in it.
he wanted to see if the fella had an ace, a weak bet is sometimes the strongest, though the fella didn't realise this Title: Re: El Blondie, The blondeites, & The Poker Den..... Post by: I KNOW IT on September 02, 2005, 11:24:32 PM The 200 bet ,was a bad one. IMHO. Told him nothing, it encouraged the guy to go over the top as it looked weak. I thought he would have bet about 700, then he could have found out more,or got the guy to pass. He may as well have checked.
Incase anyone isnt able to watch DC had QQ vs Russians QJ Title: Re: El Blondie, The blondeites, & The Poker Den..... Post by: tikay on September 02, 2005, 11:36:57 PM Brian - ring me. Have left you a message on your cell. Title: Re: El Blondie, The blondeites, & The Poker Den..... Post by: byronkincaid on September 02, 2005, 11:40:23 PM Unless he's trying to set the guy up to do the same later i spose? When people bet small into me like that it almost always means they're on a draw and want to see a cheap turn so i usually raise. I don't play world class players though so that's why I asked.
Title: Re: El Blondie, The blondeites, & The Poker Den..... Post by: dan on September 02, 2005, 11:42:37 PM dave colclough is also playing on channel 135 late night poker. he is not el blondie on there :D
Title: Re: El Blondie, The blondeites, & The Poker Den..... Post by: ifm on September 02, 2005, 11:46:40 PM what channel is that Dan?
i take it you didn't fancy the chipthrowing contest tonight? Title: Re: El Blondie, The blondeites, & The Poker Den..... Post by: I KNOW IT on September 02, 2005, 11:48:40 PM I would have understood if DC had a set or 2 pair, that kind of bet, wanting the russian to come over the top. But the bet looked weak ,so the russian came over the top with the worst hand (I believe the Russian thought he was winning at that point) and took the pot.
Thats why I thought DC would have bet slightly more to guage the strength of other guys hand. The 200 bet was only going to lose the pot for him. Title: Re: El Blondie, The blondeites, & The Poker Den..... Post by: dan on September 02, 2005, 11:56:06 PM what channel is that Dan? i take it you didn't fancy the chipthrowing contest tonight? it was on channel 135 on sky discovery rt extra?? whatever that is and no i didnt fancy it mate :D i had enough last week i think i will wait until the £300 before i go up again Title: Re: El Blondie, The blondeites, & The Poker Den..... My mate called me from there tonight...........179 runners!! FFS, what's that all about? Title: Re: El Blondie, The blondeites, & The Poker Den..... Post by: dan on September 03, 2005, 12:02:37 AM My mate called me from there tonight...........179 runners!! FFS, what's that all about? 179 runners in a £5 rebuy, what do you reckon about 750 rebuys ??? Title: Re: El Blondie, The blondeites, & The Poker Den..... Post by: tikay on September 03, 2005, 02:16:22 AM Dave eventually busted out 4th in what had become a crapshoot. Lowest chip, he "moved" with T-7 clubs, & the Estonian guy woke up with TT. No help from the board, & that's that. Title: Re: El Blondie, The blondeites, & The Poker Den..... Post by: redsimon on September 03, 2005, 04:51:25 AM If you are taping this show, please look away now ;D ;D Damn my tape ran out..teach me to go out to Gala and expect PokerDen to not last more tham 3 1/2 hours Title: Re: El Blondie, The blondeites, & The Poker Den..... Post by: elblondie on September 03, 2005, 10:10:32 AM I remember the £200 bet being into a £900 pot, but as you say it was mistake. We were still at the early stages of the comp and I was really testing Alex to see if he was prepared to play pots after the flop. A lot of players would consider the bet a 'set up' or wouldn't have the balls to re-raise anyway. I found out in this pot that Alex was prepared to 'play' which was bad news. My opinion this morning is that he may well have come over the top of a larger bet anyway but thats irrelevant. Playing this pot in this manner told me I couldn't really mess him about on the flop. I had play powerfully against him.
Generally though Alex played the best and was a worthy winner regardless of the 10 3 episode. I was very disappointed with my performance. I tried evry move in the book and none worked. Raising big with good hands, raising small with good hands, smooth calling with good hands. In all cases, I just couldn't get on. I dont believe that this £200 was the worst play though. I should have most definately called with Q7 for another £4,700 when I was looking at a pot of £15,700. This was a huge mistake. My thinking was that it would have left me with £4,000 if I called. If I passed I still had almost £9000 which was a respectful stack. This was an error of judgement on a 4 handed table playing £1,000 / £2,000 with the most aggressive player just in front of me. I should have taken my chances with the Q7. I am quite depressed about the whole thing but please dont give me there there you played well. :'( Title: Re: El Blondie, The blondeites, & The Poker Den..... Post by: ariston on September 03, 2005, 10:20:19 AM I cant comment on the play as I am afraid I fell asleep. One minute I was baiting atit on the chatroom thing the next I was well away. THis is nothing agaisnt you Dave I just think this isn't the best show on TV to show poker. I think a live feed from the game at robs the other night would've been far more entertaining.
Title: Re: El Blondie, The blondeites, & The Poker Den..... Post by: I KNOW IT on September 03, 2005, 10:32:25 AM Respect for being honest, there doesnt seem to be alot of that these days with a few of the top pro's.
On your day, you are definately a different class to the others playing tonight, but like you say it wasnt to be. Excuse me for saying but you didnt seem to be playing with the same confidence and authority of normal. Maybe it is because your lack of form is affecting you? Im sure you will be back shortly terrorising the likes of us, until then chin up and good luck. Title: Re: El Blondie, The blondeites, & The Poker Den..... Post by: ariston on September 03, 2005, 10:35:24 AM I hardly think I have been the first person to say this show is garbage. I have watched several now and only managed to stay awake until the end of one which happened to be Robs game- I think that was only because I was doing updates on it.
Title: Re: El Blondie, The blondeites, & The Poker Den..... Post by: Royal Flush on September 03, 2005, 01:21:36 PM This was the first time i have watched it, what a crap show.
Structure was appaling. The QQ hand i think personally Dave you missplayed it, but its a lot easier when we can see both your cards and your opponents. The fact that you have to consider calling a raise all in with Q7 shows how poor a structure it really is. |
