Title: Pokerface 2007
Post by: The Rivercard on September 05, 2006, 03:12:31 PM
There is a new tournament on the Tribeca network.... Pokerface 2007

I think this is the best tournament on the net with 1 in 4 of the main event guaranteed a seat at the WSOP and the winner getting a $70,000 salary and $100,000 tournament entries and $30,000 travel and accomdation paid . With all the bad press Tribeca sometimes gets I think it is good to see a tournament that is different and really gives the players a chance at playing in the worlds top venues. There may be some live qualifiers across the U/K as well I will keep you posted when I know of any.

I admit to being baised as this was my idea but would love to know what you guys think

can you guarantee that all the tournaments will run without a hitch? ;)

p.s. if you are going to ask for thoughts maybe a few more details may help like what the buy in is for the main satellite, how many satellites and super-satillites will feed into the main satellite. (i could look myself but that would then mean me having to download tribeca!!  :D)

You say that it is good to see a tournament that is different - how does it differ from other tournaments?

The Tribeca network is starting to look a lot more stable, I know they have ironed out several issues in the last few weeks. As for the tournament it is underwriten by Tribeca. This means that there is a guaranteed $300,000 prizepool, which would pay one pokerface package and 8 $12,500 WSOP main event packages. This is if there is less that 30 players. Great chance of getting a WS seat regardless of the number of runners as the packages keep getting added as they go up.

Blonde has some details on it at http://www.blondepokerleague.com/promotions/online_qualifiers/article/article_id-12316101

The tournaments are available on the whole Tribeca network

Thx, Dirty Fish

Yup

The final is live at the Golden Nugget in Vegas next May 11th -18th  The tourney will run over at least 3 days, if the entries go above 100 then it will run over 4 as it is designed to be a player friendly tournament.

Just an info tit-bit: the smallest Buy ins for this is $2 + $0.20, which lets 1 in 20 through to the next level which is $40 + $4

The sat online is $600 Matt. $12500 package, you get to the live final though and you have a pretty good chance of getting a WSOP package.

At the moment monthly but next year they may increase....and there will be live qualifiers when they can be organised  with cardrooms and casinos, more news on that within the next 4 weeks. If any card room is interested in running qualifiers pm me and I will see what I can do to help.

I admit to being baised as this was my idea but would love to know what you guys think

Funny, I was just thinking when I saw it, how similar the satellite-structure seemed to the cancelled 'Rivercard' fessie satellites from earlier this year.

Might play a sat or two, y'never know... :D

This one is underwritten by tribeca and is in Vegas   so no gaming board problems 8)
