Title: Re: Notts, £300 comp Post by: M POWER on August 28, 2005, 09:43:33 AM Julian it's all about priorities, what's important in life, there is NOTHING more important than supporting
your wife during pregnancy and our baby is due today............. However there's not much happening at the moment so if all is well tonight i'll see you in the bar about 8.15. Regards M Title: Re: Notts, £300 comp Post by: julian on August 28, 2005, 11:47:59 AM hehe, you know who to dump your stack off to if you get the call right? ::)

You've just made me feel alot better thinking I may get chips. I'm pretty happy with my game post re-buy so we will wait and see. Playing it as a £300 Freeze a good run of early cards would be most welcome. Is it a game I should avoid? not wanting to re-buy or add-on. Or with the structure and clock do you still think it's worth a go for £300 Any thoughts Regards M Title: Re: Notts, £300 comp Post by: RED-DOG on August 28, 2005, 12:18:51 PM Interesting Question
someone once gave me a formula based on what % the add on increased your stack to determine weather it was worth taking, but I've lost it ::) I am always more inclined to take the add on if I have a decent stack, if you dont take it, you decrease your chances of winning but you get better value I have no idea whether that made any sense or not ??? :D Title: Re: Notts, £300 comp Post by: redsimon on August 28, 2005, 12:22:33 PM Cheers Julian You've just made me feel alot better thinking I may get chips. However I will have £300 behind in case I have an accident :D Edit: What I mean is the £300 stays in my back pocket if I'm still in by end of level 3.... Title: Re: Notts, £300 comp Post by: M POWER on August 28, 2005, 12:26:35 PM You got me there mate playing it as a freeze with £300 as back up.
regards M Title: Re: Notts, £300 comp Post by: Junior Senior on August 28, 2005, 12:44:04 PM I'll be taking a 'wait and see' approach. i am coming armed with another £300 as insurance (either to augment my already huge stack or to re-buy if someone sucks out on me) - we'll see.
Interesting though - i think most will be playing it as a £300 freeze. Title: Re: Notts, £300 comp Post by: M POWER on August 28, 2005, 01:07:44 PM Ok Guys
If you only had £300 and no back up would you still play? Regards M Title: Re: Notts, £300 comp Post by: Junior Senior on August 28, 2005, 01:14:25 PM yes.
plenty time for a game and 5000 chips. - there will be at least a third of the field at the final table that have played it purely as a £300 freeze. Title: Re: Notts, £300 comp Post by: Karabiner on August 28, 2005, 01:44:51 PM Anyone care to lay me even money that the winner has added on ?
;) Title: Re: Notts, £300 comp Post by: phoenix96 on August 28, 2005, 01:50:10 PM just to let you know 1/2 the seats have already been taken through pre-reg or super-sat, so get there early to avoid dissappointment.
Title: Re: Notts, £300 comp Post by: julian on August 28, 2005, 04:11:34 PM if 300 is the max you can spend, treat it as a freeze-out & don't be put off by the fact that others have that option - be happy that they can build the prize pool.
obviously having the option of a re-buy/top-up is a big advantage - steve vladar, one of the tighest players i know said he would always top-up in this situation, regardless of how many chips he had at the time. personally with 5000 chips to start, if i'm up to 15k by the break i'd consider saving the 300, knowing that i'm comfortablly above average. Title: Re: Notts, £300 comp Post by: RED-DOG on August 28, 2005, 04:26:57 PM 15k for the break??
I'll be happy with that for the final including the add on :D |
