Bad call?

But there were a few hands out there that could have beaten him and yes bad call, but good tv.

Not that for that much money but i've been there.

There was debate about folding the last time but surely he could have folded there, a little jaded from the cold deck me thinks.

He's behind to a bigger straight, a number of full houses and quads its a shocking call even when thinking it through he puts him on a hand that beats him and then calls ... Why?

Whay call for that ammount of money when your behind??

In fairness during the actual show Lindgren talks about how Daniel will be expecting him to make a big bluff. I still check call myself :D

Apart from hindsight, I don't undertsand why everyone is calling it a 'terrible' call because:

(i) there are no flush draws

(ii) he won't have J-8 or Q-8 due to flat-calling a preflop raise.

(iii) he would have re-raised preflop with A-A, Q-Q or J-J due to (a) it being a strong hand that needs defining and (b) so many people still left to act behind him

(iv) although he could hold A-8, it is unlikely that he'd call the flop bet and then move over the top on the River

(v) as seen in the interview, Negreanu could be expecting Lindgren to make moves on him

(vi) seeing as though he's called and lost similar hands previously after flopping monster hands, Negreanu may think that Lindgren will make a bluff, or a move with a slightly weaker hand, and get Negreanu to fold.

The only hand you can put him on is Quad 8s, and how often can you be so sure that someone has Four of a Kind that you're willing to fold your flopped nuts, especially with so much money already invested in the pot.

K-T is a possibility, but again, would he move in on the River rather than just flatcalling, and don't forget that Negreanu said  "I know he doesn't have K-T, that's for sure"

On TV it looks like a shite call, but, of course, we can see the cards, which is somehwhat of a bonus.

I saw it happen at the WSOP in the H.O.R.S.E event, he did exactly the same thing - banged the table and through a mini hissy fit.

I think he's more tantrum prone than most people think.

Don't forget the physical tells, Doyle said he thought Eric was "at-it" aswell

I have to say completely disagree with this snoops... I think it was a bad call, as were many from him so far!

Your point on lindgrens hands is wrong imo, because the game was playing real loose... lindgren would call with many hands for 2k preflop and he was playing alot of hands slow.

The huge dwell then call on the turn has to set alarm bells off. And then reraise on the river... what can you put him on???

I agree with flushy and prob check call the river, but when leading then reraised i don't think you can call expecting a bluff because you don't beat anything else he may raise with.

Well personally I enjoyed it for what it was. A good player losing it at a crucial time

From the bits I have read it appears Negraneau is having a tough time - losing >US$600,000 on the golf course, >US$1,000,000 in one night at the big game at the Bellagio.  The beating he has been taking has to shake anybody's confidence and must effect how he plays the tough hands.

Perhaps now is a good time to challenge him :D 

That's a bit tough, I can see why he called.  I don't like it when the board pairs (except from when I'm holding the nuts of course)

You should challenge him to a high limit $0.10 HU game on Blonde. It will be tough for him I know, but I think his experience playing with all the Big Game crew may have prepared him sufficiently for the contest. 

I'd be up for that, I'd even load up with $25 if it would let me.

yep..I'd have to agree with that. And of course Doyle says he thought Eric was "at it"...he's not gonna tell Daniel what Dan himself already knew....and that is that it was a shocker of a call and if he'd been completely focused and his ego and emotions did not get in the way he would have laid it down.
