Title: Classical Music Post by: bolt pp on September 06, 2006, 06:08:22 PM This is a genre of music about which i know very little.
Ive got a lot of tunes floating about in my head that i want to download and enjoy during my "relaxing time" but i have know idea about symphonies, composers, and all other aspects of the classical music scene. Can you give me some names of the more well known tunes that I may be thinking of to get me on my way, because i really dont know what i'm looking for but there are several well known tunes that i want to get hold of, i just dont know what there called. Also if you can recommend any of the more obscure tunes, or your personal favorites that would be very much appreciated :)up Title: Re: Classical Music Post by: TightEnd on September 06, 2006, 06:10:24 PM Vivaldi "The Four Seasons"

However, I am unable to do so as I fail so emphatically on both accounts. As a consequence, I am merely left to recommend the following songs, simply because they contain some innocuous reference to classic music. Chuck Berry - Roll Over Beethoven Frankie Valli & The Four Seasons - Oh What A Night Electric Light Orchestra - 10,538 Overture Falco - Rock Me Amadeus Hugh Blumenfeld - Mozart's Money Title: Re: Classical Music Post by: ifm on September 06, 2006, 09:58:21 PM I really want to add to this thread so I can sound both intelligent and culteral. IX Symfonia Es-Dur, op. 70 can be a nice introduction to this inventive and complex composer. St Luke Passion by Penderecki is another good one. I love Chopin but it is important to get a recording by Hiroko Nakamura which is just breathtaking. I think as with any music, it depends when do you listen and do you like easy listening 'popular' tunes or something more interesting in terms of structure. Like are you fan of westlife or radiohead? the same principle applies to the classical music. Mark-Anthony Turnage is a modern composer whose was nominated for Mercury Prize few years ago for 'Your rockaby' which is a great record.
