Hero has 13k, just above average Villian from Far East called Pham has just moved to your table, chip leader with 30k, and is button to hero's BB blinds 300-600, way off the money Hero on button with Ks Qs Raises to 1800 SB and BB call flop 6h 8c Th SB checks Villian long dwell and checks Hero checks, read is Villain had a piece of it Turn Qc check check, Hero bets 3,000 into 3,600 pot leaving himself 8,000+ SB folds Villian declares "I call, pair of tens" and exposes his cards He then says "Oh no, I thought it was the end of the hand" ruling is hand is live but he is held to make no action on the river He has Jd Tc River is Js giving him two pair counterfeiting hero's hand He is held to check Should hero check or bet? Title: Re: A ticklish problem Post by: Sheriff Fatman on September 07, 2006, 02:12:42 PM I check. I don't think he folds here to any bet.
8,000 chips, 300/600 blinds. You've got time to play still. Sheriff Title: Re: A ticklish problem Post by: matt674 on September 07, 2006, 02:12:56 PM is this a trick question ???
i check - if he calls with 2nd pair i doubt he will fold when he hits 2 even though it opens more possible straight possibilities on river. I didn't see game theory working on an unsophisticated villain Title: Re: A ticklish problem Post by: boldie on September 07, 2006, 02:16:50 PM is this a trick question ??? i check - if he calls with 2nd pair i doubt he will fold when he hits 2 even though it opens more possible straight possibilities on river. I would say..."Well, atleast this way you get out cheap when hitting your two pair" or something similar and stick them in. ah just read your unsophisticated post.... if he really is then I would check.. BTW he didn't muck his hand? Title: Re: A ticklish problem Post by: ACE2M on September 07, 2006, 02:38:47 PM Shouldn't exposed hands be declared dead?
Title: Re: A ticklish problem Post by: TightEnd on September 07, 2006, 02:42:49 PM the current ruling in most places I play is that the hand is live but the player who exposes cannot bet or raise, only call or pass to further action

Title: Re: A ticklish problem Post by: The_nun on September 07, 2006, 02:52:31 PM I have been in two occasions like this, the 1st was simlar where a guy was , or so i thought, all in for a pot of 3k, so i called the all in flicked over my cards to which matey boy lol and showed me his single remaining 100 chip..My hand was declared dead and he took the pot.
2nd was when I flicked over my hand by mistake and these circumstances stood. Moved from lunacy to virtually unplayable and back again with regualrity. The trick was guessing which hand he was which Title: Re: A ticklish problem Post by: Royal Flush on September 07, 2006, 03:47:50 PM I have been in two occasions like this, the 1st was simlar where a guy was , or so i thought, all in for a pot of 3k, so i called the all in flicked over my cards to which matey boy lol and showed me his single remaining 100 chip..My hand was declared dead and he took the pot. Whoever made that ruling is a moron. Praying its not a blondite TD, lol. Title: Re: A ticklish problem Post by: snoopy1239 on September 07, 2006, 05:59:30 PM It's tempting to bet, but don't bother, with these fields it's too high a risk for such an infrequent gain.
