Opinions on how I played this hand good or bad.

Now its only a £5 rebuy but it was manic in the early stages and with only 11 players there was more than £600 in the prizepool and 3 places paid.   We're on the bubble I have just over 18 k average is probably about 27k with two players well in front who had been very aggressive with their stacks.  I am about 6k ahead of 4th place.

I am on the SB and UTG raises to 5k he is the big chip daddy in this case, in previous hands he has made large bets with rag aces and lowly suited connectors.

I the Button who was also an aggressive player passes.  I push for my last 18k with 7s 7d was this the right play at this point?

I was toying with flat calling and getting away from it on the flop if it wasn't a good flop for me, thinking I would still have the same ammount of chips as the BB if I had got it wrong.

What are the blinds?

Definetly not much point paying 5k to see the flop when you have 18k.

You havent stated what the blinds were, but in my opinion, BECAUSE youve stated that hes a loose player who makes raises with rag aces or suited connectors then you definetly have to move all in pre flop with the 77.

Its a good move against this type of player int he long run, and he could fold for another 13, so you have plenty of equity.

You could fold 77, if he was a tight/passive player, but because hes not, just move in

Nemesis is right that you need to tell us the blinds.  Assuming they are in the region of 500/1000, you could consider a "stop & go" -- i.e. flat call preflop, then move all-in on the flop regardless of what cards come (yes even if an Ace comes).

Blinds at this point where 1k/2k I considered the stop and go but was worried that if he had raised with a rag ace and I don't make my set he calls anyway, I was hoping that with the re-raise he could pass Ace/rag this time.

I had earlier passed pockets 10's to the other big stack who was playing very aggresively but continuously showing big hands in a showdown on occasion I passed he had AK.

The flop was kind to me it gave me an open ender when it came down 4 5 6 rainbow.  so even if I did stop and go I am all in anyway, matey boy had pocket 9's I got no help and he hit his set on the river, best hand stood up so no bad beat was just wondering what the thoughts on the play where.

I do like the stop and go here - and on that board, would of been an ideal flop! But would of gone broke just the same

You did nothing wrong, i am not a huge fan of the stop and go here as there is still a good chance mateyboy passes here pre flop.

You increase your stack by 1/6 if you get the pot uncalled.

As the shortstack they dont want to double you up so a push to me is the only play. You just got unlucky.
