Title: A realisation and an Apology to the 'Blonde' Family!
Post by: Scottish Dave on September 14, 2006, 06:34:38 PM
Ok, i may as well put my name to this since a good third of the slice of bother was down to the certain ways i have posted on Blonde, Mainly the football threads.

However, anyone who knows me can vouch that i am not an aggressive person, and most of my posts are taken to be aggressive when they aint 'Ment' to be, this does not take away the fact that i got very heated with a few Mods this past week and a few more posters, which has not really been fair to the Mods and only really taken their time away from matters of more importance

I have been a little silly of late the way ive acted on this forum, the guys that ive posted towards know who they are, and i apologize

When i was fighting, what i thought was my side of the arguement, i figured i was trying to change the way people thought of me(as being this aggressive type that just wants to cause bother), but ironically i was actually convinsing them that i was this over arressive fight seeker lol, i can see this know.

I must admit, it did get a little out of hand on some of the threads, and i know i didnt help things, again i can only apologies to the Mods and the whole Blonde Family, no-one really wants to see the threads go the way they did, I will now think about my debates in a more serious manor and re-read the posts and count to 10...in fact no....1,000,000 before i post.

In closing id like to Apologies to mainly Richard 'Tighty' Prew, who has really tried to help my situation out this past week (even if i couldnt see it till this morning) I really thought the big fella had it in for me, but after a chat with him yesterday and today, i realise he didnt and it was the opposite to what i was thinking. Sorry Big dude xx

Steph (Teacake) and Colchester Kev, also thanks to you guys, especially Steph, for helping me out.

Last but not least i must apologies to 'Tikay' - when i think of Blonde, i think of Tikay, Blonde is Tikay and Tikay is Blonde, so if im going to be honest about this week and some of the upsets, i must say sorry to the old fella, as i feel ive let him and Blonde down, again sorry matey.

Ok thats it off my chest, and now i can move on, and look onwards and upwards.

Keep Britain Blonde Tidy

Thanks for listening guys.

Scottish Dave

Of course I am joking.   I can't say I have noticed any dodgy posts by you mate, they are entertaining as far as I can see

Mad, One mans tea is anothers poision. What one percieves as aggression might be percieved as banter by another, and a heated debate by a third. The medium of text does little to help convey the mood of the poster or the context, and it is up to the reader to make his own mind up. And if one person jumps to the "wrong" conclusion, you can bet your bottom dollar that others will too. And for the image blonde wants to portray, it just might be the next potential member who gets the wrong idea and is thus scared away, so its bad for blonde really.

Takes a man to confront his problems. Takes a bigger man to admit them publicly. Dave, my hats off to you.

actually mate, I think it's down to the poster to avoid ambiguity. If there's a chance a post could be taken as aggression or offensive banter it should be rephrased. There's a few of us here guilty of weighting stuff wrong and getting a hammering for it.  ;surrender;

there are also some who purposely stir up or twist ambiguous posts but that's a different issue. Those of us with a talent for putting our foot in it have to be especially careful when dealing with emotive issues or even avoid them altogether.  :-X

Dave,

What a courageous thing for you to do. I have no place (anymore) to say this on behalf of blonde, but thankyou, must have been tough writing that.

I remember being very curious about meeting you at bb1, after all your rather contentious posts regarding footy previous to then. But I think that meeting you at bb1 was one of my high points of that event. Such a nice guy, and so poles apart from the postings that were all we had to judge you on before then.

Please don't take that the wrong way, it's certainly not meant as anything other than me saying that once I had met you, and you had a chance to meet everyone else that I think it helped you to realise that other members of the forum were people too - sounds simple, but it's something many people never manage to make the leap to. Postings equate to people, and it's easy to say things on a screen with a keyboard that you would NEVER say to someone in a pub.

Anyway, I am rambling now, just wanted to say good for you, and that you just did a really good thing :)

Heid
xx

Thanks Dave, you are a big, big, man.

I actually wrote you an e-Mail while you were "away", wishing you well & that we'd soon see you back here, amongst your friends. And you are, so that's cool.

I empathise with you & now, I think, you with us.

This Forum is weird. It only takes a bit of bad blood, & it spreads right across the Forum, very quickly. Now & then it's awkward to control it, but generally the Members do it for us.

The whole purpose of this place is for a bunch of us to hang out & enjoy ourselves.

Someone mentioned meeting you at bB1. I well recall that day - it's fair to say, the Scots made the day what it was - they genuinely did. Much of what's good in blonde stemmed from that day at bB1. My affection for all of you has remained massive, ever since, & it will always be that way. We shall have the occasional tiff, but we are family.

I think your standing has grown in everyone's eyes today.

Ps - You are BANNED, you Jockish donkey.

xx

You have been a man and apologised for your actions, people will have a lot of respect for you for that.

As i said yes it was quite weird writing it, and actually reading it all back, glad i did tho. With regards meeting me being one of the highs of your BB1 - Woow, that says a lot, dont worry about saying this, i knew the way people thought of me at the time, BB1 was a great event for me, and i was so glad we got to speak more than most did, you are a totally genuine person, which makes this above post hit home so much more, again thanks Kid

Tony, i was genuinely worried about how you as the 'Godfather' of blonde would react to this, and am so surprised at how you have, infact im so surprised at how all the mods have reacted TBH. Im just glad you took the time to actually give me the time of day and again and read this thread. Much appreciation to all the Mods.

Nice post dave ..  it takes a lot to bite the bullet and write something like that, it also shows your desire to remain on the forum, your appreciation of blonde and everyone involved.

The easy option would have been to go out in a blaze of glory, a final few angry posts ... and accept the inevitable ban ... but it takes a lot more to handle it the way you have, accept your error of your ways and move on in a positive fashion. :respect:

I think the previous posts have said it all ... you have a lot of support on here, just do me two favours;

1.) Maybe give the ol' football threads a rest for a bit.

2.) Despite what has happened don't change your posts so they aren't an honest reflection of you! Blonde is a balance, and it needs  people like you to insite debate and make the threads interesting ... on the other side of the coin you no the limits and have rarely pushed the boundaries ... give or take the odd football thread!?

I have never met you, and don't know you from adam, but I will happily but you a beer at the fourth blonde bash.

Now finish munching your humble pie ... and get back on the forum!

Regards

Jon.

Top post Dave, and welcome back.

I was asking after you at BB3, hopefully see you at the next one.
