Title: blonde goes down........ Post by: tikay on August 31, 2005, 09:24:41 AM No Kev, it does NOT mean what YOU think......
As many of you know, blonde "disappeared" again at around 10.30pm UK time last night, & never reappeared uintil some time this morning. At this point in time, we do not know what caused the failure, but we will let you know as soon as we do. We do apologise to you all. Title: Re: blonde goes down........ Post by: tikay on August 31, 2005, 10:07:20 AM Our current Host (about to be ex Host, as decided some weeks ago) has explained to us that they are based in New Orleans, where they have had, as they put it in an e-mail to us, "a little bit of weather". If this is true, I guess we shouild not complain too much, all things considered. Title: Re: blonde goes down........ Title: Re: blonde goes down........ Post by: TightEnd on August 31, 2005, 10:33:36 AM The sheer number of Hurricanes affecting the Gulf of Mexico in recent years is amazing
Add to that the Asian Tsunami and other seismic activity Add to that the other more frequent "unusual" weather patterns and it really does make you wonder about what we are doing to the world Oh dear, look what I've started. Title: Re: blonde goes down........ Post by: Royal Flush on August 31, 2005, 12:20:07 PM Having lived in Florida last year from July-December i can only tell you how much of an impact a hurricane makes. Some of you may remember 4 hurricanes struck Florida last year, 2 hit the very same spot (as luck would have it thats where my appartment was!!)
The thing that most amazes you is the effort to clean up after a hurricane, you havent seen anything untill you see America pull together to help out a damaged state, we had electric repair vans from as far away as Seattle, and some from even Canada!! A hurricane itself is a true experience, and i would never trade the experience of being in the eye of hurricane Jeanne last year for nothing, however i would trade the 4 days after where we had no power/AC and it was the height of the summer! |
