Basically crucified allardyce and told the world that he takes bungs which are paid to him via his son who was an agent until he resigned recently !! I bet the FA are breathng a sigh of relief they employed Mclaren !!!! Title: Re: anyone just watched that football corruption programme? Post by: Karabiner on September 19, 2006, 10:25:36 PM I thought it was mostly rather vague apart from Arnesen who was videoed dead to rights. ;snoopy'sguns;
A lot of that footage was a year old or more. Title: Re: anyone just watched that football corruption programme? I bet the FA are breathng a sigh of relief they employed Mclaren !!!! I think they may have known myself - though he was not proved in anyway to be involved. Alot of that industry is build on big talk and one upmanship.... Title: Re: anyone just watched that football corruption programme? Post by: ItsMrAlex2u on September 19, 2006, 10:30:50 PM The stuff about sam was pretty conclusive, the amount of players that his son has brokered to bolton is rediculous. There is no way he has done nothing wrong

There is no way he has done nothing wrong That wouldnt stand up though - you need evidence for these things. Having his son say something isnt even close to good enough. I agree that Chelsea once again look to be in the most trouble. Title: Re: anyone just watched that football corruption programme? Post by: Dewi_cool on September 19, 2006, 10:33:22 PM too vague for me, not enough evidence, a lot of bravado
Title: Re: anyone just watched that football corruption programme? Post by: Rookie (Rodney) on September 19, 2006, 10:37:53 PM Very interesting programme to watch. Chelsea will, no doubt, be in for a fine, as for Sam, who knows?
Title: Re: anyone just watched that football corruption programme? Post by: ItsMrAlex2u on September 19, 2006, 10:40:24 PM The bit where the agent spotted the red light on the secret camera, the guy must of sh@t himself !!

Post by: Triple X on September 19, 2006, 11:24:27 PM yep agree not much weight
shame as it is so corrupt and needs a proper investigation. everyone knows but the FA are too useless to prove it - they need to get proper investigators like Kroll involved something needs to be done Title: Re: anyone just watched that football corruption programme? Post by: AdamM on September 20, 2006, 09:03:52 PM biggest load of horseshit I've seen in a while. When I saw big Sam's face at the beginning I thought "oh no, what have you done?" I like the bloke and was disappointed. turned out that the programme showed a bunch of Agents and scouts acting like idiots and paper thin 'evidence' on the managers concerned.
at the top of the game the best players and managers are making a lot of money. below that there's a layer of ducking and diving wanna-be's trying to catch a quick buck off them. lots of pretending to be more important that they actually are. There's no doubt Craig Allardyce had been Naive but I think he thought he was almost in a job interview situation and over played the role he had in the signing of players to Bolton. Fact is teams like Bolton and Portsmouth don't have the luxury of signing Brazilian, Italian, Spanish, French superstars. they have to look to Africa, Asia and Eastern Europe. when the world cup comes round thats when they get a chance to do some bargain shopping and if an agent who says they represent 6 or 7 players in the world cup who are looking to move to the Premiership, accepting tickets to the World Cup doesn't constitute a bung as far as I'm concerned. That Geordie Agent even SAID "don't offer Sam Allerdyce money, he won't take it. pay his son." So his son goes to Sam as an agent and says he's got a player to show him. If Sam thinks hes no good he won't sign him. if he likes him he will. simple as that. I think at worst the two managers concerned could be accused of not being careful enough when talking to these toerags but seeing as they spent a year secret filming and couldn't get a single word from Sam and only a very brief conversation out of Harry (simply saying that he rated the Todd and hyperthetically would love to have him at portsmouth. he hardly made an offer) I'd say there was nothing more than circumstantial evidence and I seriously hope that when the FA clear the managers the sue the BBC. There's plenty of corruption in football amongst agents, scouts, youth team coaches and the like. that will have to be the main focus of future investigation. Title: Re: anyone just watched that football corruption programme? Post by: Rooky9 on September 20, 2006, 09:11:41 PM Its against regulations for harry to say what he did... I like toddy, I'd have him, you know i would.....he should never of even been in conversation with him by the rules.
Title: Re: anyone just watched that football corruption programme? Post by: sharpy on September 20, 2006, 09:49:48 PM The Panorama programe was very lightweight at best.All it showed was the agents who are hell bent on making as much money as they could by whatever means possible.With regard to Big Sam and 'Arry,there was not one peice of evidence to prove that they take 'Bungs'.The BBC had censored a lot of the dialogue because there was no evidence,only word of mouth. The problem now is that the BBC could now be sued to buggery,ultimately it will be us that foots the bill. ;goodvevil; BTW I'm glad that the manager that was supposed to collect the £50K didn't turn up,otherwise we would be sat at the top of the Premiership tonight with no manager.The way the programme set the scene for this suggests it was Harry Redknapp that was due to collect the goodies. Title: Re: anyone just watched that football corruption programme? Post by: GlasgowBandit on September 20, 2006, 10:03:55 PM Worse undercover coup I have ever witnessed they had over a year and still couldn't come up with the fecking goods!!
Thank feck I don't pay the license fee its things like this and constant repeats on the BBC that make me refuse to pay for such things. I hardly ever watch BBC or listen to their radio stations yet I pay £42 + a month to sky and £15 to Setanta! Anyway back to topic in hand it appears to me that the folk behind this where disgruntled with football and tried to get one over on the game. Title: Re: anyone just watched that football corruption programme? Post by: BrumBilly on September 21, 2006, 04:33:21 PM Awful programme! I kept waiting for a story to emerge but one never did. I got the impression that the high profile manager they alluded to was a frenchman...Not sure if that was intentional on their part or whether my brain had switched off due to the poor journalism on show. The fake sheik would have got twice the material in half the time methinks.
