Just wandered what everyone reckons!

Omaha Hi-Lo, no doubt about it. May be one of the reasons why every1's so bad at it.  ;D

Personally i would go for one of the split games as the post skilful.....

Probably Stud 8/better just because you have to take account of all the cards that have been mucked and also what cards you can see of your opponents. Its a good one to seperate mugs from the cash online if you can get good at it.....

I always wander why NL Holdem tournaments take such preference over PL Holdem tournaments. Most players will say that they would rather play Pot Limit than no limit.....

i agree... either omaha h/l, or stud h/l are the most skillful.

personally, i prefer pl hold em tourneys to nl hold em tourneys. i think it takes more skill as pot limit requires more play post flop...

played a fair bit of online and live tourneys, and have seen the increased numbers of 'shove it in pre flop' merchants playing no limit. to me, this cannot be classed as skillful play...

I've read in a few places that Stud8 is considered to be the game where skillful players have the most advantage. Split games are generally good but in full Omaha8 limit games its harder to get a big advantage once players stick to decent starting hands. I'm not convinced they are good because they are so skilful though, maybe more because the average understanding of them is lower than for more popular games like holdem.

I've never seen any PL Stud8 games on the net though and not much limit Stud8 (there are a few ok games going on pokerstars.com)? 

One variation of this I like to play with my mates is PL Stud HiLo with a push (ie the up card gets offered to the next player if you don't want it) and declaring for High and Low -  thats a great game which I've won plenty of money at, sadly not available anywhere expect my house as far as I am aware.

There is a decent Stud HiLo on pokertstars but its of the Limit variety. I havent seen a PL one on the net if anyone has could they post it here..

Winkie  I agree with you about the increasing number of all in merchants that appear in these NL tournaments. I remember Tikay remarking about someone in Deauville who literally had one move  all in. I had a player on my table in Monte Carlo with blinds of 100/200 move all in for over 10000 chips about 6 times. Eventually he got caught by someone who had KK and busted out.

was at luton a few weeks ago, playing in a 50 shootout tourney (6 tables, winner of each table goes through to the final table.) Unfortunately, i busted out early, but heard this hand come up on the final table.

blinds were reset on the final table back to 100/200, with each player starting with 24k in chips. player moved all-in, almost 24k, whilst the blinds were still 100/200. he promptly got despatched by a player a couple to his left who couldn't get his chips in fast enough with pocket aces. can't remember what 'all-in merchant' matey boy had, but can remember it was filth...!

how can you lose 24k chips going all-in pre-flop when the blinds are 100/200...???
