Title: Re: do you go broke here Post by: boldie on September 21, 2006, 09:38:23 AM yeah i guess you would...what is it with the small raise pre-flop though, from your position you want more players out. especially the sooted guys like me who will call small raises all day long if we get value. DOH! :blonde: why can't everyone just play NL? I didn't read that part..sorry. Title: Re: do you go broke here Post by: Hairydude on September 21, 2006, 11:45:27 AM In a pot limit game UTG with a hand like this I prefer to just call as the raise that you have put in wont put anybody off at all(knowing that you have a bigish hand that they hope you wont be able to get away from) plus the more people call the more people behind them are likely to call given the pot odds. you probably wont even get a reraiser here with someone like KQsuited AJsuited etc as they will be scared of the reraise from you so you should have perhaps called then waited for a raise then you have a lot bigger pot to reraise and push players out with hands like 4h 5h; ultimately the hand could have simply ended the same by getting a full table of callers and you being unlucky the flop came the way it did- its just unlucky and you have outs to beat their flush. but IMO your raise could have scared any potential raisers from getting reraised
Title: Re: do you go broke here Post by: Ironside on September 21, 2006, 03:46:16 PM it was a passive table with multiway limpping and only 1 guy that raised preflop (L Duke) and he would only raise an unopened pot
so there was no way i was going to get a chance to reraise preflop and i really didnt fancy playing AA UTG vrs 4 or 5 other players as it was i still got 3 callers |
