What's happening down at Notts? What's this I hear about turning people away, 99 players, and massive pots. I remember the days when they could barley get three tables going for a Friday night. And I'm only 23!!! Anyhows, there's a poker question that always bugs me, a hand I never know how to play. So has anyone got any advice? What do ya do when you flop top pair with a high flush draw? Do you play it slow, or fast. I'm never sure and always seem to end up making a small bet, only to end up losing to two pairs or something. I know there are umpteen factors involved, but generally, does anyone have a view on the hand? I'm never quite sure how strong it is. cheers. Average players. Everything is very average. :) 4 or 5 see the flop. You are 2nd, first guy checks.

when you think your ahead and your hand is a huge favourite you can slow play sometimes when you have an unbeatable hand you can do as you please top pair is always vunerable, the fact you have a flush draw makes you hand stronger but its still a vunerable hand you can either bet others off the hand or dump it if the odds are not in your favour vrs a player that has you out chipped cash game would be slightly different Title: Re: Question Post by: tikay on March 28, 2005, 05:39:12 PM Me? I would not play it slow in the circumstances you describe. It's Notts, & there are 4 other players in the hand, & it's the rebuy period. So there are likely to be at LEAST two calling stations amongst the oppos, maybe more, & at least one player probably has a decent drawing hand. So bet a bit every street, by way of pot building. And it's plays like that which ave made me the, err, exceptionlly mediocre player I have developed in to......
