I'd think I'd rather hit trips.

What's the best way to get these hands paid?

Should you just bet the flop?

i think a small raise on river might have led to tom making a stab at it of atleast calling a $5 or $10

you were nver going to double up with quad aces

It's that fine line between making the small value bet or betting big to make it look like a bluff.

In general though, I sometimes feel like betting quads as soon as they hit is the best option. How often do you get paid by trapping?

Well, seeing that it's destructive to hide from your mistakes, here's a hand where I played excruciatingly badly and gave the old dog a bit of charity.

If red Dog had Pocket jacks you may have got your $46 bet called! - he's so tight you know!  ;D :D

I reckon he still would have let it go.  ;D

I think the best strategy is to bet the quads and then check the turn if you get the call. This gives them a liscence to stick in a bluff if they were drawing or a bet if they now think they're ahead.

Or is it best just to trap the flop? hmm
