Post by: SupaMonkey on September 30, 2006, 04:30:28 PM Why min raise the turn? I think a larger bet here gets more info.
The problem is that your opponent knows you have the flush. Imo he either has you or he is holding theĀ Ahrt. The min raise on the flop followed by the turn bet is consistent with a bluff but he is very brave if he is bluffing there on the end. His play is inconsistent which probably means the 9 helped him so you should probably fold. I think he flopped two pair and didn't want to lay it down. Title: Re: Call or Fold? Post by: temp0r on October 01, 2006, 01:44:12 PM i don't think he DOES know you have a flush. nor do i think HE has the flush. he min-raises the flop. after min-raising pre-flop. which could mean slowish played Ahrt Aspades or Kc Kd
when you bet the flop he knows you can't have a big flush. so the large raise on the river may well be designed to make you back off when he's just the overpair. though it might be disguised to get paid off with the house as the river paired the board. i personally check raise the flop and bet the turn so my river situation is obviously different. however in this case due to the way it's played out i may well call but i'm praying for aces. Title: Re: Call or Fold? Post by: Trix on October 01, 2006, 09:24:57 PM hard laydown but i dont think he raises on the river with anything that you can beat...
what did he have? Title: Re: Call or Fold? Post by: boldie on October 01, 2006, 09:31:18 PM hard laydown but i dont think he raises on the river with anything that you can beat... what did he have? i would be tempted to think he has a pocketpair which hit the board and therefore now he has the full house. in that case it's a fold for me. Title: Re: Call or Fold? Post by: snoopy1239 on October 01, 2006, 09:54:00 PM You're all spot on.
The guy had Kings though, slightly bigger than I thought. Anyhow, my bet was rubbish, and I really shouldn't have called. I knew I was beat as soon as the River hit, I should have just check folded. Didn't listen to my gut instinct though, plus I was tired and didn't think it through properly. ;smackedbottom; Title: Re: Call or Fold? Post by: SupaMonkey on October 01, 2006, 10:28:54 PM i don't think he DOES know you have a flush. On the turn when snoops reraises, i think he thinks snoops has the flush. What else can snoops have here. |
