Title: Flush on the river, what should i do?
Post by: Trix on October 01, 2006, 05:45:57 PM
Live hand

blinds are 25-50. One limper, SB calls. You are in the BB with  Qd 8s and check.

Flop comes   6d  Jd  8d. SB checks, you check and limper checks.

Turn is   6s

both blinds check, limper bets 150 and only you call.

River is   2d

You are first to act. What do you do?
a) check/call
b) check/fold
c) put out a block bet of ~ half the pot
d) bet big looking to take it down now - ie at least pot size bet

e) other, please state

Thanks people

hmmm check call probably.

I'd like it if he bets as I feel my queen is probably good but having said that i won't risk a large stack on it.

it depends on how many chips I have left in the tourney (If I'm shortstacked I'm more inclined to push here as I 'd feel it was a fair opportunity to double up.)

check call

Although he probably would bet the bare Ace on the flop, he could easily have the King and you'd be facing a tricky decision if he decided to re-raise you River bet. Also, if you bet out, I can't see to many weaker hands calling.

Snoops hits it on the head. What worse hand calls you here? Check-call catches all the bluffers.

I don't understand why you didn't lead out on the turn. The board is an excellent card for you because the person beihnd you won't have the 6 and it is concievable that you have it. Also, they have shown weakness, shove a pot sized bet in and find out where you are.
