Title: Am i becoming too loose Post by: The_nun on October 05, 2006, 02:08:14 AM I tried limping in as in the first few hands there was a lot of action so I wanted not to commit too much with the starting chips only being 1k, early in game etc.

Title: Re: Am i becoming too lose Post by: TightEnd on October 05, 2006, 02:14:32 AM answer 1...no, you played it fine...what Larry was doing calling the check raise on the flop completely eludes me and its a punchy call of your turn push with only 1 card to come, albeit he has the odds getting over 2-1 to call with 17 outs
answer 2......I can go to bed dreaming happy thoughts now. Good night! Title: Re: Am i becoming too lose Post by: Wardonkey on October 05, 2006, 02:23:12 AM I don't play AJ at this stage very often. Sometimes in late position and I think if you can't pass it then you should be raising. I can see why you limped, not wanting to have to fold to re-raises twice on the bounce, but I think simply passing is a better move here. What the hell is Larry doing?
Title: Re: Am i becoming too lose Post by: The_nun on October 05, 2006, 02:34:14 AM Larry is not doing a lot of late due to him being laid up in A&E :D
Title: Re: Am i becoming too lose Post by: Wardonkey on October 05, 2006, 02:39:58 AM I hope he has insurance, he'll not be able to pay the bills if he makes calls like that every day...
Title: Re: Am i becoming too lose Post by: matt674 on October 05, 2006, 09:48:15 AM I dont see why people are questioning Larry's play in all of this?
Calling a raise and a reraise on the flop with 6-high no pair no draw. Calling all in on the turn with nothing but a weak flush draw and a gutshot straight draw. Looks like a typical online play to me LONG LIVE LARRY AND ALL HIS FRIENDS!!! Whilst they get lucky every once in a while they provide us with enough profit the rest of the time to make it worthwhile!! p.s. don't forget to put 50p in the tin ;) Title: Re: Am i becoming too lose Post by: matt674 on October 05, 2006, 10:07:10 AM answer 1...no, you played it fine...what Larry was doing calling the check raise on the flop completely eludes me and its a punchy call of your turn push with only 1 card to come, albeit he has the odds getting over 2-1 to call with 17 outs 12 outs (9 spades and 3 fives) meaning still not getting correct pot odds to call as 3-1 underdog though due to lack of sleep at past 2am we'll let you off this once ;) Title: Re: Am i becoming too lose Post by: TightEnd on October 05, 2006, 12:41:35 PM thanks, I was distracted by thoughts of loose nuns and misread for an up and down draw

Its at the very least worth a limp here! Passing has got to be out of the question. There is a preflop raise as well (albeit the minimum) so now if you hit top pair you face the quandry that the original raiser may still have you beat either with a better kicker if the ace comes down or with a bigger pocket pair if the jack comes. essentially what you are hoping to see is 3 hearts - but then you are only getting paid if someone has limped with a smaller flush draw.
