Title: Am i becoming too loose
Post by: The_nun on October 05, 2006, 02:08:14 AM
I tried limping in as in the first few hands there was a lot of action so I wanted not to commit too much with the starting chips only being 1k, early in game etc.

answer 1...no, you played it fine...what Larry was doing calling the check raise on the flop completely eludes me and its a punchy call of your turn push with only 1 card to come, albeit he has the odds getting over 2-1 to call with 17 outs

answer 2......I can go to bed dreaming happy thoughts now.

Good night!

I don't play AJ at this stage very often. Sometimes in late position and I think if you can't pass it then you should be raising. I can see why you limped, not wanting to have to fold to re-raises twice on the bounce, but I think simply passing is a better move here. What the hell is Larry doing?

Larry is not doing a lot of late due to him being laid up in A&E  :D

I hope he has insurance, he'll not be able to pay the bills if he makes calls like that every day...

I dont see why people are questioning Larry's play in all of this?

Calling a raise and a reraise on the flop with 6-high no pair no draw.

Calling all in on the turn with nothing but a weak flush draw and a gutshot straight draw.

Looks like a typical online play to me

LONG LIVE LARRY AND ALL HIS FRIENDS!!!

Whilst they get lucky every once in a while they provide us with enough profit the rest of the time to make it worthwhile!!

p.s. don't forget to put 50p in the tin ;)

12 outs (9 spades and 3 fives) meaning still not getting correct pot odds to call as 3-1 underdog

though due to lack of sleep at past 2am we'll let you off this once ;)

Come on AJ suited? Its at the very least worth a limp here! Passing has got to be out of the question.

Yes suited i agree - worth a limp, unsuited though i normally would pass preflop UTG or UTG+1. There is a preflop raise as well (albeit the minimum) so now if you hit top pair you face the quandry that the original raiser may still have you beat either with a better kicker if the ace comes down or with a bigger pocket pair if the jack comes.

essentially what you are hoping to see is 3 hearts - but then you are only getting paid if someone has limped with a smaller flush draw.
