Title: Do your animals watch television? Post by: Sark79 on October 08, 2006, 07:14:43 PM My dog does. He loves nature shows and always takes an interest in them when they are on TV.
Tonight there was a thing on BBC about Yellowstone National Park and the Wolf population there. He was absolutely glued to it and even when I was eating a cheese sandwich he showed no interest in what I was doing :D . Trust me, this is very unusual. He is a big fan of TV shows like 'One man and his dog', 'Crufts' and he enjoys watching Victoria Stillwell's show as well. I always tell him not to sit and watch TV. When he isn't out a walk, I would prefer if he did something constructive with his time such as practice his swingball skills or eat his doggy chew toothbrush. I am not keen on him sitting watching TV, but you know what these young dogs are like these days :D . My other dog hates TV apart from Man U games, he has always enjoyed watching the team, he doesn't like Rooney though. Title: Re: Do your animals watch television? Which is odd considering she can't play poker at all...

And when we got our little kitten it would always jump up onto the bed and gaze at the TV in awe when ever it came on So it was only natural to call it Nemo (cutest thing ever) :D Title: Re: Do your animals watch television? Sometimes the footie too but only if the games end to end stuff Title: Re: Do your animals watch television? Post by: RED-DOG on October 09, 2006, 01:50:56 AM Unlike cats, dogs can't recognise 2D images, they only see in black and white and they don't focus well on stationary objects. A dog's eyes are designed to see movement.
Your telly watching dog is probably reacting to the sound. Dogs rely heavily in smell and hearing, sight comes a very poor third in order of importance. Title: Re: Do your animals watch television? Post by: bobby1 on October 09, 2006, 02:05:25 AM I used to have two cats, Bobby and Bonny. Bonny loved to sit on top of the TV when the snooker was on and try to swat the balls away as they came along the screen. It kept my entertained for hours.

But to do your watch, telly and animals too, that must have been some losing session. ;scarymoment; Title: Re: Do your animals watch television?
