Title: IF.. I enjoyed the poetry and limericks from yesterday. Post by: kvnstv on October 09, 2006, 03:46:36 PM I enjoyed the poetry and limericks from yesterday and it inspired me to try and re-work Rudyard Kiplings master piece IF on a poker theme. Did'nt get to far just the first two verses and didnt much rate verse two to be honest.
If you can keep your head when all about you Are losing theirs and blaming it on you, If you can trust yourself when all men doubt you, But make allowance for their doubting too; If you can fold big pairs on scary boards, When all about you are busting out with there’s If you can bluff again when all men doubt you, But fold to the occasional re-raise too; If you can wait and not be tired by waiting, Or being lied about, don't deal in lies, Or being hated, don't give way to hating, And yet don't look too good, nor talk too wise If you can fold poor cards and not be tired by waiting, Or being bluffed, and shown those bluffs, Or being checked, and then re-raising, And yet don’t look to angry or trash talk too much If you can dream - and not make dreams your master; If you can think - and not make thoughts your aim; If you can meet with Triumph and Disaster And treat those two impostors just the same; If you can draw – when pot odds demand it; If you can think beyond your holding; If you can hit and miss the flop And bet those two boards just the same |
