I am after some help with regards to a name for a small business. My missus is addicted to Car boot sales and goes every Saturday and Sunday without fail. She has come up with the idea that at both large Car boots she goes to (over 300 stalls at each) their is no one who sells sweets of any description. Now every one eats sweets so we are looking to do it just to bring a small amount of cash in whilst these run. She is planning to sell the old fashioned sweets that you used to see in jars on the top shelfs, (Lime Chocolates, Navy Cough Sweets etc etc etc, aswell as some newer sweets for the kids. But we need a name, catchy and funny hopefully. We will be trying to run it as the old sweet shops used to run, Pinny(Don't laugh), old fashioned scales etc etc. Its not a serious business interest but will hopefully bring in a small amount fo money to treat the little one in years to come. 1)Do you think this is a good idea - would you buy 2)Name - We need a name - If its a cracker ill quite easily pay a reward lol. 2) You could try Honeydukes Sweets (after the sweetshop in Harry Potter), attract the kids, the adults will follow. Could be a copyright issue, but as a mobile shop they'd need to find you ;) . Mrs Fagans Traditional Sweet Shop (www.mrsfagans.co.uk (http://www.mrsfagans.co.uk) for it's proper reference) would fit in. If you could get a nice wooden sign painted up with your variation of this, then the name would reinforce your marketing of being old fashioned/traditional. Since the goods you are selling have been bought for the sole purpose of selling them on for a profit (ie they are not your own personal property), in the eyes of the law you are now a Trader. As such, be aware of various laws that apply to you. I would guess that the most relevant ones are the Business Names Act 1985 and Food Safety Act 1990.
