Title: Is this the worst move in the world Post by: NEVES on October 10, 2006, 02:23:01 PM Hi, STT 6 players remain blinds 50-100 about to go to 75/150 i am BB with 1080 low stack by a fair margin. UTG 3600 limps next three fold SB 2500 calls i re-raise all-in my cards 4-2os both players have shown me know moves or aggressive play up to now. UTG calls SB folds i am up against QQ (lol) but my preflop thinking was they are passive types and weak as my holding is it will be live. Best of it Neves. Title: Re: Is this the worst move in the world Post by: TightEnd on October 10, 2006, 02:40:39 PM when you have 2+ limpers from cut off, button etc maybe.
Title: Re: Is this the worst move in the world Post by: Mbuna on October 10, 2006, 02:50:50 PM You still have 10BB ans although you are short stack you can afford to wait for a better opportunity. Sure you are looking to make a move soon but can still choose your spot. If you really must make a move with 42o then you need to be FTA and hope to win the blinds uncontested as you dont really want call.

Title: Re: Is this the worst move in the world Post by: Graham C on October 10, 2006, 11:42:35 PM I'd only make a move if I was first in.
Title: Re: Is this the worst move in the world Post by: thetank on October 10, 2006, 11:47:45 PM It's never the worst move in the world when you get your chips in first.
If the blinds are about to rise though, I'd rather make the move next hand or so, make almost the same amount of chips, but not have to worry about getting the limpers to pass. Title: Re: Is this the worst move in the world Post by: Canuck on October 12, 2006, 11:03:51 PM It's never the worst move in the world when you get your chips in first. After starting my little goal of 1000 dollars by Christmas through STT's, I learned this very quickly. It is amazing how this holds true. The gap concept is pretty much how I play the 100-200 blinds and beyond in the turbos. Title: Re: Is this the worst move in the world Post by: Rooky9 on October 12, 2006, 11:49:16 PM I dont mind it, 300 in the pot, take it down! U dont get the chance to play the shortstack much... I honestly feel these moves are more trouble than they are worth until you really need to make them, chip and a chair is what i live by! |
