Title: Things I hate about internet poker. Post by: kvnstv on October 10, 2006, 09:07:22 PM 1.) People who hit and run, playing 1/2 7 card stud heads up on and I get the bloke down 80 dollars from his buy in. He storms back to take a 10 dollar lead and then clears off. At least in a card room I could chase him down the road haranguing him.
2.) Being bleeped at by my computer and ZZZZ by some other players just because I put the kettle on and it was like the only time it happend in the whole sit and go and it was ony 30 seconds FFS. Feel free to add any pet peeves. Title: Re: Things I hate about internet poker. Post by: thetank on October 10, 2006, 09:31:03 PM It's easy to find things to hate, but more fun to find things to love. Start yer own thread then hippy. ;yellowcard; This is for miserable moaning, I quite fancy a ciggy but I can't have one peeps. I hate fuffing up a big early lead in an STT. You raise very early on with AA for example, some donk goes all in with A6s, and QQ calls. You dutifully find the correct button to click and triple up. A money finish is pretty much locked up on the first level or so fantastic. Then you go absolutely card dead, all throughout the next few levels. Not to worry, this is fine, you weren't planning on playing much anyway. The blinds are nothing and you have the chips to coast into the money with no gambling whatsoever. certainly can't complain, we got AA with uber-action early on. Bu the next few levels pass and there are still 5/6 players. The blinds start to carry some heft. Round after round passes and there isn't even a decent oppurtunity to steal a small pot. Someone else seems to always get there first. Your big blind gets attacked by shorter stacks. You are forced into calling a few of them with hands like AJo and 88. You lose, and then you lose again. On the bubble, you find yourself suddenly in the position where you have to play a few pots, the blinds are huge. First time in the whole tournament you make a steal raise, and you run into a big bad boy KK type hand. Left with 200 chips UTG and 300/600 blinds, you pass your 92o and decide to take your chances in the big blind. Two other players go all-in for some strange reason. The shorter stack doubles up though, (the 992 flop was good for his overpair) and your tournament is over next hand. Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrr Title: Re: Things I hate about internet poker. Post by: tantrum on October 10, 2006, 11:01:28 PM Playing on the internet has a main disadvantage of not being able to see all those people playing in their pijamas/speedos/boxershorts smoking their fags/ eating greasy kebabs and drinking their beer.
Hmm, but on reflection perhaps this is not such a bad thing. Title: Re: Things I hate about internet poker. Post by: Decider on October 10, 2006, 11:44:01 PM losing
Title: Re: Things I hate about internet poker. Post by: Graham C on October 10, 2006, 11:44:28 PM I'm wearing my pyjamas now :D
I love it, the only bad thing for me is that I play most nights and the missus doesn't like it. I need a lappy so the next big win I get, I'm going to make use of the money to get one. Then I can play in the living room - she'll love that :D Title: Re: Things I hate about internet poker. Post by: Graham C on October 10, 2006, 11:46:27 PM And I keep meaning to have early nights, but again, it's nearly midnight and I'm involved in games
It makes me tired! Title: Re: Things I hate about internet poker. Post by: Poppet7 on October 10, 2006, 11:47:18 PM Theres an avatar on blonde that puts me on tilt... just gets on my nerves, it's the woman that is putting her finger to her mouth as if to say "shhh"... Grr!
Title: Re: Things I hate about internet poker. Post by: kinboshi on October 10, 2006, 11:58:03 PM Finishing 19th in an MTT, when it pays to 18... ;noflopshomer;
Like I've just done. I know it's not just online, but it's the most annoying thing about online poker at this moment in time... :D Title: Re: Things I hate about internet poker. Post by: Sark79 on October 11, 2006, 12:25:30 AM I hate rudeness to players. Tonight I was playing a cash game and there was a guy who was playing anything and hitting every flop. He took a couple of pots off me and a few others at the table. Normally I would get p....d off and start tilting, but I remained calm and I knew I would recover my loses if I just listened to my whales and dolphins MP3 and relaxed. But my opponents were being rude to the guy big time. There is no need for this. I knew he would give us the cash back and he did. When he went all in and was called, he held J,8 and lost everything he had infront of him. The guy that beat him wrote "thanks" "fish" , etc. There is really no need for this, I would never slag someone off that had just lost all he had at the table. It is bad business and there must always be respect at the table in my opinion.
I also hate hit and run players. I wait at least 5 hands after winning a pot, even if I don't play another hand. Title: Re: Things I hate about internet poker. Post by: mikkyT on October 11, 2006, 12:39:29 AM Getting disconnected when you've just gone all in and you hurry back to find you're out! No thats not bad. Raising a large amount, THEN getting disconnected is worse. Coming back to find that matey boy was quite happy to hit "raise" and steal the pot from your now disconencted wee hands. You now have to perform the short stack shuffle. For this reason I have the time connected window, because orange dial-up see fit to disconnect me every two hours. Roll on the broadband connection! Title: Re: Things I hate about internet poker. Post by: Swordpoker on October 11, 2006, 01:14:45 AM Hit and run players are fine by me. Anyone who wins money off me is very welcome to bugger off. Its the losers that I want to stick around :D

I don't mind hit and runs, but rudeness is uncalled for even if the guy is annoying. Rubdowns are one thing, but rudeness isn't. If a person is willing to put his money in with crap cards, he deserves a certain amount of respect for doing so even if it cracks your aces. And he is entitled to take that pot just as much as the next person. I like to be rude to the rude people. Title: Re: Things I hate about internet poker. I wish my PC could read my thoughts and just register me! Hit and runs are annoying sometimes, have been playing a lot of short handed and HU cash the last few days and i had a guy yesterday who when he finally won a decent pot against me just upped and left! Title: Re: Things I hate about internet poker. Post by: kvnstv on October 11, 2006, 07:06:59 AM I just think its pretty bad form to just leg it. If say, I was just playing a bit of HU cash before a tourney starts I would usually let them know I would be finishing in 5 minutes. My biggest peeve is why does your internet connection only give out for the night during MTT's when your going strong in our around the chip lead, getting good cards and hitting flops. Never happens when your down to your last 300 chips running like Thora Hird and want to watch a film on sky anyway.

And getting disconnected when you're playing a heads up match - because that's pretty much the same as if you'd gone all in. |
