Title: to drink or not to drink? Post by: madasahatstand on September 05, 2005, 02:18:50 PM How many of you partake in a little drink while playing poker. I dont know if its the lack of judgement alcohol brings to me but i think i play better with a couple of beers to keep my company? How about the rest of you?

Post by: matt674 on September 05, 2005, 02:25:11 PM the strongest tipple i choose to partake in is when i mix my bananas with red bull - a lethal combination but somewhat effective in staying awake and providing the stamina for the upcoming WCOOP events.
i'm tee-total but do enjoy playing tourneys very early in the morning online when you can instantly spot the "regulars" at the table who have just arrived home from a night out and you note taking from the previous 6 months goes right out the window :) p.s. welcome aboard Title: Re: to drink or not to drink? Post by: ifm on September 05, 2005, 02:33:43 PM i drink continuously throughout a tourny live (if i get a lift) and it does me no harm ;D
never ever drink in the house so online i'm sober, actually maybe that's why i'm better live? Title: Re: to drink or not to drink? Post by: ACE2M on September 05, 2005, 02:40:02 PM i never drink while playing. It has cost me a fair bit of cash when i do.
Logged on new years day about 5am p*ssed as a fart and rinsed about a grand in an hour. Title: Re: to drink or not to drink? Post by: Junior Senior on September 05, 2005, 02:44:36 PM a few buds, but no more than 3 or 4! ;D
Title: Re: to drink or not to drink? Post by: Milkybarkid on September 05, 2005, 02:58:44 PM I sometimes drink when playing tournaments and it never does any harm.
Online a big no no. Worst ever - Rolled in hammered and lost £5000. Woke up in the morning and didn't even remember playing until i looked at my account! Then i remembered..... Post by: TightEnd on September 05, 2005, 03:14:12 PM now you know why you win at Betfair all the other times Ben!!! you are the only one sober after they've all done their cobblers in the sports book!!
Title: Re: to drink or not to drink? Post by: RED-DOG on September 05, 2005, 03:35:14 PM I think drinking while playing is ok but don't go too far
If you find that people are stepping on your fingers, its time to stop Title: Re: to drink or not to drink? Post by: AdamM on September 05, 2005, 03:37:19 PM for me it's not one drop except for REALLY friendly home games. I might treat myself to a pint following a really bad beat but even thats rare
Title: Re: to drink or not to drink? Post by: Maroon on September 05, 2005, 03:50:33 PM I'm bad enough sober! Would never trust myself with cash and booze.
Title: Re: to drink or not to drink? Post by: nicehair82 on September 05, 2005, 04:09:22 PM no drinking when playin or gambleing in general clouds the judgement and all ways end off loseing money.
Title: Re: to drink or not to drink? Post by: Alfa on September 05, 2005, 04:21:42 PM In a recent heads up with some hendon fish I chose the drink of champions Snakebite and black (diesel) taken through a straw. Note his obvious concern (and my complete apathy) after i put him all in with my 73os. A true snakebite attitude lol.

On a serious note, dont drink before any activity if u wanna play your A game!! Hence the 'shotgun' no 11 for my cricket match on satdy after my 21st bash :D Title: Re: to drink or not to drink?
