Title: Grosvenor GP draw Post by: RED-DOG on October 12, 2006, 04:53:34 PM I just got this Email, but I cant see any draw info in the site, and anyway, isn't there still another qualifier at Swansea?
Hi. Please be advised that the draw has now taken place to decide which flight each player will take part in on Saturday, for Day 1 of the Grand Prix. The full list of names and times is available from the Grand Prix homepage at www.grosvenorgrandprix.com. Please endeavour to arrive at least half an hour before your allocated time slot as any player not in their seat for the start of play will be disqualified from the competition. You're in the 1st flight Tom. Sheriff Title: Re: Grosvenor GP draw Post by: Sheriff Fatman on October 12, 2006, 04:57:35 PM Anyone know if the rule still exists that all players need to be there for the 1st hand. I've been drawn into the 2nd flight and it says I need to be registered by 9pm.
Didn't all the players need to be at the casino for 3pm last year, regardless of draw? Sheriff Title: Re: Grosvenor GP draw Post by: Royal Flush on October 12, 2006, 05:01:48 PM http://www.grosvenorgrandprix.com/draws.html (http://www.grosvenorgrandprix.com/draws.html)
Evreyone had to be there last year FOR the draw, now the draw has been made you will be ok Title: Re: Grosvenor GP draw Post by: RED-DOG on October 12, 2006, 05:02:29 PM thanks Sheriff, got it now.
I was told you had to be there regardless of which flight you're in, but Danny from Walsall told me that so it could be wrong :D Title: Re: Grosvenor GP draw Post by: Sheriff Fatman on October 12, 2006, 05:04:35 PM T&Cs seem to suggest otherwise, still.
Not sure I want to risk it unless we can get some sort of official word. Sheriff Quote 3. Where the number of players in the Grand Prix Competition Final exceeds the capacity of the host club, the final will be held over 2 or more sittings. Seating will be determined by a random draw with the tables evenly split between the sittings. All players should be at the host club at the start of the first sitting regardless of which sitting they are in. Any players not present will be disqualified from the Grand Prix Final. All sittings will be of the same duration and all points held by players at the end of their sitting will be carried forward to the final stage. A re-draw for seating will be held prior to the commencement of this final stage. Title: Re: Grosvenor GP draw Post by: Yogi-Bear on October 12, 2006, 05:19:16 PM That was the idea Sherriff. So people wouldn't have to hang around all day if they were in the 2nd flight??
Altho according to Albert in Swansea, and RED-DOG above, they still have an event scheduled for tonight. http://blondepoker.com/forum/index.php?topic=15656.0 It is in the Live Poker section. If this is the case then surely the draw for the GP event can't have taken place due to it not being totally random. Quote Hi Curtis. I think those terms must still relate to last years event – I will try and get them altered asap. I can assure you that you do not have to arrive until later in the evening for flight 2. Regards, Jamie Thanks to my m8 Jamie for getting the other half of the field disqualified, you are a star m8..... At least I could then blame someone else for losing my chips, instead of my idiot self. Title: Re: Grosvenor GP draw Post by: Karabiner on October 12, 2006, 06:03:29 PM Thank goodness they've had the sense to change it, last year was a shambles.
However I'm not sure that this truly complies with Gaming Board regulations which state that all players must be on the premesis at the commencement of an event, although it certainly does comply with common sense. Title: Re: Grosvenor GP draw Post by: RED-DOG on October 12, 2006, 06:17:41 PM Does anyone know what starting chips/clock we get?
Title: Re: Grosvenor GP draw Post by: AlrightJack on October 12, 2006, 06:34:43 PM A few things to clarify - the EPT at the Vic had two starting days and players were only required to be there for the start of their day. The gaming board approved this. To do this, a day draw had to take place before the actual seating draw was made and that is essentially what has happened for the Grand Prix. A draw for which flight people are in has been made, but the full table draw will not be made until after the results of the final qualifier at Swansea have taken place. As for the Swansea qualifiers, they will be assigned which flight they are playing in after the qualifier tonight has finished. This is not really any different to how the Vic did their day draw for the EPT, where players were assigned alternate days, as they registered. Having set the precedent at the Vic that players only have to be there for the first hand of their allocated day (start time), this method does not breach any regulations.

I think its the same as last year - a 45 minute clock, with 10k starting chips - but don't hold me to it... Title: Re: Grosvenor GP draw Post by: RED-DOG on October 12, 2006, 06:39:10 PM Thanks!

I think its the same as last year - a 45 minute clock, with 10k starting chips - but don't hold me to it... 15 minutes with 2000 please!! What do we reckon the chances of a 200 way chop are? Then all go back to the village bar and have a good day! Title: Re: Grosvenor GP draw Post by: AlrightJack on October 12, 2006, 06:53:53 PM Betting will also be available at some point tomorrow. An outright winner market (all quoted) and a market on where the eventual winner qualified. I'll give you a clue on the second market - with over 60 qualifiers, the favourite will be Blue Square. With over 50 qualifiers, Walsall will be the 2nd favourite. With one qualifier, Plymouth will be the rag.
Good luck all and see you in Walsall! Title: Re: Grosvenor GP draw Post by: Card_Shark on October 12, 2006, 06:59:26 PM flight 2 looks tough lol.
Title: Re: Grosvenor GP draw Post by: Longines on October 12, 2006, 09:53:25 PM Does anyone know what starting chips/clock we get? The answer from the floor guy at Walsall on Tuesday was 10,000 and 1 hour. But seeing as how they were giving three different answers to what the clock would be on Tuesday, don't take it as gospel.... Title: Re: Grosvenor GP draw Post by: ifm on October 12, 2006, 11:02:44 PM flight 2 looks tough lol. It certainly isn't lacking aggression!! Good to see Blondie getting in this year, i think he played every qualifyer last year!! Good luck to all. |
