i dont think there is much to comment on here... u want him in the pot after the turn card. Title: Re: hmmmm Post by: Claw75 on October 12, 2006, 11:55:01 PM no it's not a bad beat moan, I really couldn't put this guy on a hand, but seeing what he had afterwards I wondered if there was anything more I could have done to stop him chasing his draw. I guess not if he's calling pre-flop.

I guess not if he's calling pre-flop. fair enough... one thing maybe... if the reraise from you is less.. say 200-250 then it leaves room for you to perhaps get away with some chips on the turn and river? i'm not sure. i am trying to cut out some of my continutations on straighting or flushign flops, especially so early... but i am a rock! Title: Re: hmmmm Post by: Graham C on October 13, 2006, 02:04:08 PM I think after his call of your raise on the flop, on that board, I would have been just checking. You've done all you can do without hitting. Something isn't right if he's called the large raise preflop and then called a raise on the flop. It's possible that he'd already hit the straight, a draw to a straight is very likely with the small bet out too (obviously as that's what he had) but I'd have been more worried about a pocket pair, possibly trips.
You can't help it when you get people that will call raises with anything, just try and limit any potential losses. Next time when you do hit your hand, you'll get paid off nicely. Title: Re: hmmmm Post by: matt674 on October 13, 2006, 02:28:17 PM with 1340 in the pot after the flop i'd go all in for my 1440 when i've hit the ace on the turn - your not giving him the correct odds to call then if he's on the draw. The pot is big enough for me to take there and then and i'd rather take it without showdown.
If they've already hit the made straight (though calling a preflop raise with 3-5 or 5-8 out of position is unlikely) or trips then c'est la vie. Title: Re: hmmmm Post by: Triple X on October 13, 2006, 08:57:18 PM i think the 3rd hand of the tourney is the biggest point here.
too many muppets around at this stage - calling preflop with anything. |
