Title: ICHUC 4 Nations Format
Post by: North Angel on October 16, 2006, 11:49:26 AM
The ICHUC is proud and excited to be launching the ICHUC 4Nations Championship, especially given the success of the two recent ICHUC International HU Test Matches between Ireland and Great Britain.

The format used for the test matches does not lend itself for a competition involving four teams. Therefore a lot of thought has gone into providing a suitable format. This is the result.

-   Teams will consist of eight players.
-   Teams must contain both male and female players.
-   Each team will assign each of its players a team number 1 through 8. (The exception to this is England who will substitute number 4 with number 14. This is because England have ‘retired’ number 4 in memory of Mark Williams who was tragically killed just weeks before he was due to represent England at number 4.)
-   Players with the same team number are then pooled and are drawn to determine their first round match.
-   The winners of the first round matches then play the other winner within their pool.
-   In the third round (quarter final) the winner of pool 1 will play the winner of pool 2, winner of pool 3 will play the winner of pool 4, winner of pool 5 will play the winner of pool 6 and winner of pool 7 will play winner pool 8.
-   In the fourth round (semi finals) winner pools 1/2 will play winners pool 3/4 and winner pools 5/6 will play winner pools 7/8.
-   The final will be between the two remaining players.

Team Points

As a team event team points will be awarded as follows:

Winner – 30 points
Runner Up – 25 points
Losing Semi Finalist – 20 points
Losing Quarter Finalists – 15 points
Losing Second Round – 10 points
Losing First Round – 5 points

Payout Structure

32 Players paying Euro200 = Euro6400

Euro25 / player to charity = Euro800

Individual Winner Euro2000

Individual Runner Up Euro1000
Losing Semi-Finalists Euro500

Winning Team Euro1000

Runner Up Team Euro600

The above format is the KingstonLaceyNewth format  :D

Good luck Scotland, England and Wales!

Whichever qualifier I win, will in return guarantee you the winning prize.

We are all looking forward to you coming over again. obv we are going to win but nice of you all to travel over for 2nd/3rd/4th place. If any of you are staying over on the Sunday then Green Joker Poker's monthly €250 game is on in Drogheda which is about 40 mins from Dublin City centre.
