Title: 67 sooted what would you have done?
Post by: boldie on October 19, 2006, 07:48:42 PM
100$ tourney on hollywood (pokerroom) ages from the money. (120 or so left)

You find yourself with 67 sooted in UTG +1, you've called pre flop and there are 3 others in the pot with you..
I'll give a rough chip idea of myself and the others that are in the hand.

SB 1200
BB 1800
UTG +1 (you/me) 1700
UTG +3 3700.

Blinds are 25/50

every one limped in no preflop raise.

Flop 2 7 7

SB bets 100
BB folds.

you, raise 800

UTG +3 raises all-in

SB folds.

what do you do?

ugh i still hate the raise.

Sb bets 100, you call instead, on the turn he is in a 600 chips pot with 1100 back, he will probably fire the lot in.

I just read that back and its a tad harsh, sorry! lol

I hope you know it was in jest, judging by your posts you clearly understand the game and as such are incapable of the worst raise in the history of poker.

That honour probably falls to some Celeb on a tv show.

that's what I thought...imagine my surprise when he flipped over pocket 2's for the full house?

I rivered the 6 to win the hand...final 28 now...so got 200$ guaranteed...now to win the feckin thing..have 11k in chips..and blinds are 4 and 8..in 11th position though.

hollywood...the pokerroom website.

just donked off quite a few chips because hfh starts 3 away from the money (and it takes ages) and the change was only 40$ so thought I'd call 7k on the FD..(bad call for sure) but back upto 12k again now...2 tables left...16 or 17 players.

Firstly, im not too sure about the early position limp with suited connectors. I feel suited connectors only have any value in a cash game.

What if someone behind you raises 3/4 x bb? Do you still call?

Best way to play sooted cards if you really want to is raise them, from any position it really doesn't matter. You must understand a lot of blind steals from the better players are now made from early-mid position. Late position raises are always almost suspect and are often re raised by strong players with a weak hand knowing that your likely to pass to a re raise. If your stealing from early pos, you really wont get any action in the later stages of a tourney unless they have JJ, AK or better.

Obviously the raise was a misclick but i like raising here maybe x 3, you may get action off a a small pair or even a 2 and its hard to put you on a 7.

Also, if you raise 3 x bb then it is possible to pass 76 here. You can rule out a limped high pocket pair as he has limped AFTER you. Problem is he may make the move with any pair bigger than 33.

I wouldn't be passing in this situation with small chipstacks. But i would be folding in the first level of a 10k starting stack tourney

Definately a tricky hand history though, racked my brain a little
