Evenin all.

I have told quite a few people about this hand but havent put it up for analysis, and i still think about it daily so here goes. Answere on a postcard please:

Tournament is WSOP Main event:
8th hand of tournament, I get 77 on the button
1 before cut off raises to 150 (25/50 blinds), cut off calls, I call
Flop Kd Jd 7h
Original raiser bets 150, cut off raises to 500, i reraise to 2000
Original player calls, cut off folds
Pot size now just over 5k
Turn was 8h
He checks to me, i bet 5k, he puts me all in.
Because i had bet 5k and not something like 3.5k i was only left with about 1500 chips, and although i knew i was screwed i call off the last few to see him flip KK

He played it perfect to be fair and was lucky that someone else flopped a big hand aswell, but could I have done this any different.....?

very unlucky IMO.. maybe you could have played it a bit better preflop  :D

I think you played the hand as well as possible, the call on the river was a bit fishy but over time you will win more than you lose.

You're unlucky, he plays it great knowing you'll hang yourself on the turn. (As would I - hang myself I mean)

I am mainly interested in hearing how many people really think they could have got away from this

if it wasn't the wsop you wouldn't still be worried about it, those opportunities are to good to pass up in any tournament, cold deck and hard luck
