I was lucky enough to be in one of those old fashioned train carriages last month travelling from Paris to London and to my amazement the other occupants were poker players (insert name of a poker player here – we’ll call him “Phil”) and Isabelle Mercier (travelling between WPT events), a member of their entourage named Felix and a Scottish Nun (Agnes, probably) After several minutes of the trip both the Nun and Felix dropped off to sleep and I explained my interest in poker to “Phil” and Isabelle and we got chatting. Well, I say chatting but it wasn’t really – the beautiful and talented Isabelle did her best to involve me in the conversation but “Phil” was his usual ‘I, Me’ self. Soon the train happens to pass through a dark tunnel, and the unmistakable sound of an almighty slap is heard. When we leave the tunnel, “Phil” had a big red slap mark on his cheek. I heard Isabelle say under her breath "I bet that handsome English fellow wanted to touch me, and he must have put his hand on the Nun by accident, who in turn must have wanted to slap his face but missed and hit “Phil”" I later heard the awoken nun talking to Felix "I think that tall American colleague of yours laid his hands on the sweet Canadian girl and she smacked him". Felix himself was wondering how much make up it would take to cover the slap mark on “Phil’s” face before the next photo-shoot. ”Phil” says to me angrily "You dirty fat ugly blonde English son of a bitch, you put your hand on Isabelle and by mistake she slapped me". Me? Well, I was just hoping another tunnel was soon due so I could smack that arrogant twat again, this time good and proper.
