Title: Film DTD
Post by: MPOWER on October 23, 2006, 12:45:15 AM
Dusk till Dawn.  It was on CH4 tonight at 10PM.

Watched the first hour with the Mrs then Our Sarah went to bed.
I cannot watch spookey TV. So I flicked over to UK FOOD.
"Tales from the river cottage"  Far more relaxing.

Just like to know about the ending.

Regards

M

One of the only films i have watched more than once. Dunno about scary tho I hate horror films but DTD is class. First half Tarentino, second half Buffy the Vampire Slayer, what a film.

the end? most of 'em die

I'm not a horror film fan either, but DTD is too ridiculous to be scary.

You missed some great overacting and some brilliant lines. In the end Clooney & Juliette Lewis are the only ones to survive.

First half was a quality, tarantino-esque, character driven film with cracking dialogue. The second half turned into a ridiculous vampire gorefest. I really wished I'd found out about the film before watching it. What could have been a great film based on the first half turned into a diabolical waste of time.

The second half is great if you understand cinema. The blacksplotation characters etc, lots of ref to other films about 120 ref i think.

It's not a question of understanding cinema, but a question of personal taste. I would rather put parts of my body in a vice than watch sci-fi/fantasy movies. It doesn't mean I don't understand cinema, but just that that particular genre doesn't appeal to me.

I remember watching this with my friends at the cinema a long time ago.  I liked it so much I watched it twice.

It reminds me of a great year.  1996.
