Title: Film DTD Post by: MPOWER on October 23, 2006, 12:45:15 AM Dusk till Dawn. It was on CH4 tonight at 10PM.
Watched the first hour with the Mrs then Our Sarah went to bed. I cannot watch spookey TV. So I flicked over to UK FOOD. "Tales from the river cottage" Far more relaxing. Just like to know about the ending. Regards M Title: Re: Complaint about DTD (Serious) Post by: byronkincaid on October 23, 2006, 12:51:15 AM One of the only films i have watched more than once. Dunno about scary tho I hate horror films but DTD is class. First half Tarentino, second half Buffy the Vampire Slayer, what a film.
the end? most of 'em die Title: Re: Film DTD Post by: Rod Paradise on October 23, 2006, 10:29:23 AM Dusk till Dawn. It was on CH4 tonight at 10PM. How F****** Scary is that!!! Just like to know about the ending. Regards M I'm not a horror film fan either, but DTD is too ridiculous to be scary. You missed some great overacting and some brilliant lines. In the end Clooney & Juliette Lewis are the only ones to survive. Title: Re: Film DTD Post by: Graham C on October 23, 2006, 10:39:30 AM lol same for me. I was thinking what a good movie it was going to be, then all the vampire scarey stuff kicked off ;hide;

Title: Re: Film DTD Post by: LukieD on October 23, 2006, 11:13:58 AM First half was a quality, tarantino-esque, character driven film with cracking dialogue. The second half turned into a ridiculous vampire gorefest. I really wished I'd found out about the film before watching it. What could have been a great film based on the first half turned into a diabolical waste of time.
Title: Re: Film DTD Post by: mex on October 23, 2006, 05:39:03 PM The second half is great if you understand cinema. The blacksplotation characters etc, lots of ref to other films about 120 ref i think.

Title: Re: Film DTD Post by: LukieD on October 23, 2006, 05:54:22 PM It's not a question of understanding cinema, but a question of personal taste. I would rather put parts of my body in a vice than watch sci-fi/fantasy movies. It doesn't mean I don't understand cinema, but just that that particular genre doesn't appeal to me.
Title: Re: Film DTD Post by: MrMoves on October 23, 2006, 07:08:05 PM I remember watching this with my friends at the cinema a long time ago. I liked it so much I watched it twice.
It reminds me of a great year. 1996. |
