Title: Re: one for the older members Post by: mikkyT on October 25, 2006, 04:41:17 PM I remember the launch of Channel 4. And the green red blue logo. And that rubbish music. Doo Doo Da doooooo
TV-AM. The big egg. Good morning britain with all the people outside in the freezing cold lining up to make "Good Morning Britain" as seen by a helicopter in the air. I thought it was live.... silly boy. Kids TV: Cities of Gold. Wide Awake Club, that spawned Timmy Mallet, and Wac A Day. Saturday Superstore, Going Live. Crackerjack. Grange Hill. Pole Position. Dogtanian and the muskerhounds. Bermuda shorts. Mullets. A-Ha. New Kids on the Block. Bros. Liverpool throwing away the championship, Arsenal needing to win by two goals. My name sake scoring the goal that gifted the Arse the title. Liverpool beating Crystal Palace 9-0. Liverpool stuffing Everton in the cup final, after evertons mullet headed footballers where on top of the pops singing "Here we go here we go here we go". Having a really hot summer and making tar bombs using kitchen matches and lumps of melted tar from the road. Twist and Squeeze. Coca Cola yoyos. Fanta, Sprite and gold spinners. Go professional (with the clear edge) or the other one with the white edge. Doing an around the world and clocking your mate in the nose and getting all yoyos banned from your school. Skateboards. With plastic wheels, plastic trucks and crappy bearings. Thinking your mate was the dogs bollocks because he had rubber wheels and could go twice as fast. Having said mates skateboard run in front of the head teachers car (6pm at night) and having the head teacher bollock us in front of the whole school the next day. He had taken us home to our parents and spanked our arses as well. Your parents thinking that it was absolutely fine for a teacher to discipline the kids this way. Pob. BBC micros, ZX81, Atari 800 XL. Pacman and pong. Granted a lot of this is 80s, but still worth a mention.
