Call or Fold and why??? Fold, too early to be taking a 50/50. I would reckon he may have a small - medium pair. I would have preferred to see the flop by flat calling. Then access it from there. Title: Re: BB with AK vs a tight SB shove deep stacks $55 rebuy Post by: Newmanseye on October 25, 2006, 10:34:28 PM IMO its a call, It looks like oyu both have the same hand, if he's a rock he wants you in if he has Aces or kings, no need to push, he's playing either AK or AQ you might be ahead but chances are you both have AK in this spot.
no rock is going to over play a middle pair so badly, maybe Jacks but thats doubtful. I say call, all day long. Title: Re: BB with AK vs a tight SB shove deep stacks $55 rebuy Post by: boldie on October 26, 2006, 09:46:53 AM fold for me at this stage of the tourney with the blinds this low.

Title: Re: BB with AK vs a tight SB shove deep stacks $55 rebuy Post by: SupaMonkey on October 26, 2006, 03:12:24 PM Call, because he doesn't have aces or kings imo.
Title: Re: BB with AK vs a tight SB shove deep stacks $55 rebuy Post by: boldie on October 26, 2006, 03:25:48 PM Call, because he doesn't have aces or kings imo. why at this stage of a tourney would you move all in and risk your tourney on AK off suit? if you fold you have plenty chips for the blinds and I think we both agree you're probably behind. Title: Re: BB with AK vs a tight SB shove deep stacks $55 rebuy Post by: SupaMonkey on October 26, 2006, 03:34:24 PM Its 8900 for 13300 which is nice.
Folding is a weak play imo, just because he is a rock doesn't mean he wouldn't have been stealing, and now restealing. He may also think that you were stealing and overvalue his hand. If you fold here then i think you should flat call his initial raise. I think when you reraised you committed to callling his shove. Why do you want to put 11*BB in the middle and fold? I see your point about putting 11x BB in the middle..but I don't see how reraising to 2200 makes you have to put the extra 10k in the middle at this stage. If the blinds were higher I would agree) Title: Re: BB with AK vs a tight SB shove deep stacks $55 rebuy Post by: Royal Flush on October 26, 2006, 03:49:16 PM He can have worse hands is the point, if you are in his shoes, you make a 'steal' raise and the BB re-raises you, the BB doesnt need a lot to do that, so if i am SB i am pushing with a lot of pairs and AJ AQ.

I think I helped get a call by shoving... I had AA the very hand previous so i wanted to look like i was making a move.
he spiked a K but it was the preflop i was enquiring about. Title: Re: BB with AK vs a tight SB shove deep stacks $55 rebuy Post by: JP on October 29, 2006, 03:21:00 PM I fold the AK and i'd have 100% pushed with the QQ.
Later on I probably call with AK but early on in these biggish rebuys when the big money goes in preflop they usually have BIG hands. But then again if you want to accumulate early then it is a fine call |
