Added 4 more Qualifiers to the grand prix with a total of £5100 being put in by the brave souls. Qualifiers are in no prticular order R. Fatorechi D. WAtson C. Kkola and lastly THE TOM "RED DOG" MCCREADY Yogi Title: Re: Grosvenor/Blue Square Grand Prix Post by: RED-DOG on September 12, 2005, 05:04:58 AM Thanks in no small part to Womble, who bought me a very nice meal and and talked about poker untill he had me so fired up that I refused to lose, I even bullied Ali Malu into submission
I had a great time at Blackpool, The £300 Freeze out was a nightmare of big hands that wouldn't stand up, although I did play QQ like a Herbert when my opponent did everything except stand on the chair and scream "Put em down, I've got aces" I did manage to win a couple of nice pots in the cash game and, ignoring the scowls and raspberrys, I said goodnight very sweetly and scarpered back to my hotel £500 better off Yogi was in great form, strolling nonchalantly around the cardroom, a word here, a nod there, he makes it seem effortless, but he misses nothing, and the comps ran like clockwork. He flattend the prize structure and the complaints and threats of the protesters were of no more consequence than a few flies to a Grizzly Bear, a minor annoyance to be waved away He is the man Kudos Title: Re: Grosvenor/Blue Square Grand Prix Post by: RED-DOG on September 12, 2005, 05:46:22 AM Got to come clean about Ali Malu, we both had trip Qs and luckily I had the better kicker, other than that I avoided him like the plague ;D
Title: Re: Grosvenor/Blue Square Grand Prix Post by: tikay on September 12, 2005, 05:52:07 AM Nice post Red, & I second your comments about Yogi, surely a man in the running for Cardroom Supervisor/Manager of the Year.
When you see guys cope so easily with things that other peeps get all hot & bothered about, that's class. Bobby Moore had it - never broke sweat, never had mud on his shorts 'cos he never fell over, always in the right place at the right time. Piggott had it, Kenny Barrington had it, Colin Todd had it. Class, real class. Top Man Yogi. Title: Re: Grosvenor/Blue Square Grand Prix Post by: BlueWolf on September 12, 2005, 05:52:54 AM Well Done Tom on your qualification, knew you had it in ya.
Was great to see you up here as always even though i didnt spend anytime in the cardroom (and i am still to ever deal to you lol) The missis was well pleased with you stopping to chat and has waxed lyrical about you all weekend hehehe (dont tell kev) Hopefully i'll see you at pastures new Title: Re: Grosvenor/Blue Square Grand Prix Post by: BlueWolf on September 12, 2005, 05:54:03 AM Nice post Red, & I second your comments about Yogi, surely a man in the running for Cardroom Supervisot/Manager of the Year. Anyone have a list of future qualifiers ? Title: Re: Grosvenor/Blue Square Grand Prix Post by: Robert HM on September 12, 2005, 09:09:57 AM Nice one Tom

At-iT Title: Re: Grosvenor/Blue Square Grand Prix Post by: owner on September 12, 2005, 10:26:59 AM Nice to meet you last night red-dog and congrats, sorry didn't get chance to speak more but you may have noticed I'm not much of a talker at the table :). You didn't look troubled all night whereas I was billy low-stack the whole time and never really got going, knew I'd have to win a couple of races to stand a chance and it wasn't to be.
Luckily Mr Newbie donated lots of his to me 8) By the way didn't you think that was a strange choice for someone's first ever live tourney ? Title: Re: Grosvenor/Blue Square Grand Prix Post by: RED-DOG on September 12, 2005, 12:47:57 PM Hi Owner, It was nice to put a name to another 'blonde face'
Just to clarify, there was an absolute, fresh from the mint, brand new and unspoiled beginner on the same table as us, a couple of the players were trying to take advantage, ie, raising the pot and then saying "Ok mate, it's five hundred to you now" so I explained to him loudly that it was his turn, he could fold (or raise) if he wanted to and suggested that he should ask what his options were every time untill he was sure. He was shaking like a leaf and doing everything wrong, he was scarlet with embarrassment but he loved every minute of it. I had a few words with him during the break, he was a really nice kid and will be an asset to the game if they don't spoil him before he finds his feet But I have to agree with owner, what a wasps nest to jump into for your first ever game Title: Re: Grosvenor/Blue Square Grand Prix Post by: tikay on September 12, 2005, 02:22:42 PM Proud of you Red for helping the newbie. I just HATE it when folks don't help to put newbies at ease.
Title: Re: Grosvenor/Blue Square Grand Prix Post by: RED-DOG on September 12, 2005, 06:35:39 PM I was the most clueless newbie you ever saw, and I really appreciated every bit of advice I could get, still do for that matter
Title: Re: Grosvenor/Blue Square Grand Prix Post by: Yogi-Bear on September 12, 2005, 11:25:27 PM Update of Qualifiers.
after 13 events there are 43 qualifiers and £50,100 generated. The Prize fund is still a stonking £250,000. That leaves 40 qualifying events left. Still waiting for the results of the Blue Square qualifier on Friday. Full list of upcoming events at http://www.grosvenorgrandprix.com/calendar_events/calendar_events.html Thanks for the words of praise and support Tikay, Red-Dog. I do it for you guys. :) And little Wulfie. Maybe I will die on my arse without you. NOT. Sorry to see you go mate, but I know why and hope you get the support in your new job. Gonna have to break me in a second female assistant for festival time to help out. Lucky me :) Who is Owner???? Yogi Title: Re: Grosvenor/Blue Square Grand Prix Post by: owner on September 13, 2005, 12:42:05 AM Who is Owner???? Yogi I am a sometime (not regular) visitor of your cardroom. I was going to describe myself as a balding fat bloke but then realised that description fits half your punters. ;D Title: Re: Grosvenor/Blue Square Grand Prix Post by: Yogi-Bear on September 13, 2005, 12:48:40 AM It certainly does. Could describe me to but I got a full head of hair.
Plus not fat. Just Vertically challenged. Thats why I have to try so hard ;)
