I've been asked the same by the wife.

I feel connected with characters that share a common interest, like going to a gig or supporting a team. Since I'm connecting I start to feel love. Then I go home and tell my partner I feel loving. She doesn't normally ask any more questions.

I used to play poker on a daily basis back a few months ago and at first I did really enjoy it, got buzzes out of winning etc but then I just found myself playing to kill time. Played my first game in awhile a few days back and it was REALLY slow so I got abit fed up, so I gave one of those blackjack poker games a go on willhill and found it fun.

I feel challenged.

When I win I feel elated to have beaten the challenge.

sometimes great, sometimes so bored i could cry. Love the late stages, i get a massive buzz robing chips and pushing people around and make weird plays.

I really cant abide cash games, Just so bloody boring,  I really love it when playing in MTT's i cant really afford to play in (satellite entry or a treat to myself),  The later stages of tournaments are just a huge buzz and i think they always will be.

I have just removed alot of my online roll to start playing more live as i've grown a little fed upwith online play (even though i am still winning)

Must be with the wrong woman!!

Poker is good, but it aint THAT good! lol

As for how do I feel?

Online - boored of late - probably why my results have dropped off

Live - Just a pure Buzz , plain and simple. The ups and downs are so far apart and can happen so quick - I would guess it is a similar buzz that drug addicts get.

On the "Edge", the more I get to play the more sensitive and philosophical I become at the same time.

Cash - That horrible sickening feeling when the boards paired and your opponent is leaving you the correct odds to call, even though you've made the nut flush! You know your about to donk off $100

MTT - When you have masterfully played your flopped straight- All in - to see MB hit runner-runner for his flush!

Eventually I've come to realise that its all part of the game, all you can do is to take solice in the fact that you make correct decisions at any given time, there are "No good cards, just good situations".

Thats the difference between an internet player and a live player - sooo much more going on live, how can you get boored? Learn to study players - tells DO exist you know!

Best you stick to the internet James  ;goodvevil;

When I sat down to play live on Friday I told the table I was the world's worse shuffler / dealer and if anyone wanted to help out I'd appreciate it. The chaps mucked in and did all my shuffling for me but I thought I can deal at least.

The very first hand it's my deal. Deal kind of went OK but I kept the cards in my hand ready for the flop !

Forgot to burn a card and put the flop cards down including two aces. One of my table matey's had already gone all in and been called, turns out he had KK v A rag. This lead to some vociferous ' I ain't happies' since of course he's got outflopped badly and my lack of burning one and having the cards in my hand (a mechanic ? moi ?) got him quite upset.

He was right to be annoyed but I quietly explained (in a very loud voice :-) there's a way of saying these things to someone and that I didn't appreciate his approach.

Like all these things, storm in a teacup and after the initial minor fracas we're all the best of friends and they seem quite impressed by my beginners luck as I collect all the chips :-)

Point is, I loved all this - the fighting, the arguing, the making up -  and I really liked the aplomb with which all them other guys shuffled and dealt and I think I would really like to be able to do that as easily as them so I had time to work on things like picking up tells and such.

Since I don't play for money really I know I'm just gonna get out more and play as many of these smaller tourneys as I can

Just my thruppence

xx

I love out-thinking/ outsmarting ppl at the poker table, gives me a real buzz and satifies my competitive streak. Love playing online or live, live just seems like very inefiicient, time wise, when i coudl have plaed 10-20 mtt;s in the same period online, :-)

Yeah thats whats boring, especially deep in an MTT when everyone is sat there in silence watching each other, YAWN!

If people actually enjoyed themselves at the table it would be ok, what really gets me though is the more experienced players berating the 'newbies' on bad play. Makes me want to go home and close the chat box.

Poker makes me feel confident, sounds wierd, but this is one of the only places where i feel "at home" and "confident", at the poker table. The only other place i am as confident about myself is on a football pitch. Must be coz i know im rubbish at everything else!

when I play well I feel great. Being the best at the poker table (not being the luckiest but actually outplaying people) is a fantastic feeling, kind off like what Henry must be feeling when he's on the pitch (just a guess obviously as I'm not nearly as skilled a poker player as he is a footie player but you know what I mean). Making stupid calls/moves always makes me feel a right muppet.

Is that what your Dad has been telling you! lol

When I'm playing poker live I feel a bit nervous the first few hands but then I calm down and just play. I feel excited when a nice flop is dealt. I also feel nervous when people look at me trying to analyse me, especially if they have sunglasses on!

When I'm playing online it's usually exciting cos more often than not I'll have someone watching and cheering me on and I can sit and dance (or whatever) when I get good hands lol! I'm more confident playing online.

I try not to have feelings at the poker table but sometimes

after a bad beat I suffer from serious 'Poker Taurettes,' but that usually lasts 1-2 minutes and yes it makes me feel better, and enables me to regain focus, so I can continue playing. ( they are very bad, not for public hearing)

I have to say, that they are getting less often, and less severe as I am learning to control my emotions.

When I play on the net I start off with the intention to be calm and pick my spots, but I just cant help myself getting involved with people chatting away about this and that etc etc. then when someone is abusive I just lose the plot totally and abuse them back then abuse everyone on the table, then to top it off I go all in (just to show how strong I am) to any slight raise with any two cards. I never seem to win  ;grr; ;grr; ;grr; ;grr; ;grr; ;grr; ;grr; ;grr; ;grr; ;grr; ;grr; ;grr; ;grr; ;grr; ;grr; ;grr; ;grr; ;grr; ;grr; ;grr; ;grr; ;grr; ;frustrated; ;frustrated; ;frustrated; ;frustrated; ;frustrated; ;frustrated; ;frustrated; ;frustrated; ;frustrated; ;frustrated; ;tracet; ;tracet; ;tracet; ;tracet; ;grr; ;grr; ;grr; ;frustrated; ;frustrated; ;frustrated; ;frustrated; ;frustrated; ;frustrated; ;frustrated; ;frustrated; ;frustrated; ;frustrated; ;frustrated; ;frustrated; ;frustrated; ;frustrated; ;frustrated; ;frustrated; ;frustrated; ;frustrated; ;frustrated; ;technophobe; ;technophobe; ;technophobe; ;technophobe; ;technophobe; ;technophobe; ;technophobe; ;technophobe; ;technophobe; ;technophobe; ;technophobe; ;technophobe; ;grr; ;grr; ;grr; ;grr; ;grr; ;grr; ;grr; ;grr; ;grr; ;grr; ;grr; ;grr; ;grr; ;grr; ;grr; ;grr; ;grr; ;grr; ;grr; ;grr; ;grr; ;grr; ;grr; ;grr; ;grr; ;grr; ;grr; ;grr; ;grr;

If I'm playing well I feel in control, if it's not so good I hang on to the table for dear life - at any time i could get thrown off.

Playing at Luton I feel safe whatever happens, at Southend i feel unsafe constantly due to the loose play. At the sportsman I feel a little in awe and at the Vic I feel like it's fun, especially if you go with the right people.

Rarely do i feel its life or death - which i would like to make my play more focused - but on the other hand I don't want to be so absorbed as to be suicidal if I loose.

I play more tournament but enjoy cash more - i think it's the quick results.

It really just depends    :dontask:

nice response people

me personally i treat it as a treat to play live thus i have fun......but serious fun at that

i love trying to read peoples hands by betting patterns and percieved tells, oftentimes i am way of the mark, its all a big learning process...

early stages in a mtt is a bit like dodging big bullets being fired at you,but when u get a chance to fire a few bullets back it leaves a satisfying, almost drug like high..

getting to the Ft and in the money is just a pure buzz, its strange but i find i am much more relaxed around the FT tahn the early stages and if i look around you can notice the tense people ( they just stop talking)...
