Title: Re: Reigate Poker Club Post by: TightEnd on September 07, 2005, 04:11:18 PM I know a fair bit about this, but wasn't going to spam it
Tony Chapman (who I do not know) is in partnership with Daryl Wong, who I know fairly well from playing the cash tables at Luton It looks good.....all games dealer dealt, a big refurb taken place, in a good location, and a deal with Empire to provide online play there in a separate room (sound familiar?!??!). At present I think the plan is £10-£30 rebuy comps nightly, though Daryl says they will do bigger freezeouts if that's what the members want. I intend to try it out one weekend I would think it would be of a lot of interest to those in London/South or West of London looking for an alternative to casino comps I registered on the site to find out more. Alternatively if any of you would like to speak to Daryl, let me know and I can get him to contact you Title: Re: Reigate Poker Club Post by: Heid on September 07, 2005, 04:11:56 PM Interesting to note that it appears that it will be ALL dealer dealt - I hope it makes the Gutshot and the Vic go the same, it might do the Gutshot - but hope is waning for the Vic.
I might be able to get the other half to pop us over there, he hates self dealt even more than me! I'd pay extra in tourney fees to get dealers, personally. Heid xx Title: Re: Reigate Poker Club Post by: TightEnd on September 07, 2005, 04:13:44 PM I know they've spent the last three weeks interviewing loads of dealers
They are offering full training for those who haven't dealt before Again, anyone who would like to be a dealer there, I can put you in touch to speak to them Title: Re: Reigate Poker Club Post by: Royal Flush on September 07, 2005, 04:17:16 PM Anyone know exactly where it is, and what it's like inside, no pictures on the site makes me wonder.....
Title: Re: Reigate Poker Club Post by: Robert HM on September 07, 2005, 04:23:00 PM Flushie :- Very interested, I may do an advanced recce.
Tightend, no problem about spam from you, it would have been treated as "Info of interest to Blondites" I think, anyway it's here now. I've registered and hope I am a member in time for the first night, he is certainly welcome to call me and confirm either way, I put my 'phone numbers on the online application. Heid, I like the idea of dealer dealt tables but my only fear is that it is used as an excuse for excessive juice. I am sure these people want to build a succesful club so will be careful with that issue. Title: Re: Reigate Poker Club Post by: Robert HM on September 07, 2005, 04:25:44 PM Anyone know exactly where it is, and what it's like inside, no pictures on the site makes me wonder..... I think Church St is near the Priory, so close to the centre. If it is still a week from opening it may not be in a state to take good pics yet. Title: Re: Reigate Poker Club Post by: Heid on September 07, 2005, 04:26:11 PM Tis true, but if they are canny they will keep it down at the start as a loss leader, and then word of mouth will get around and they will get more and more players - that's what I would do anyways :)
Heid xx PS what do I know, I am only a punter :) Title: Re: Reigate Poker Club Post by: matt674 on September 07, 2005, 04:30:48 PM Quote Tony Chapman The 57 year old Londoner Ex Soldier, Ex social worker and retired businessman. Title: Re: Reigate Poker Club Post by: Robert HM on September 12, 2005, 10:39:29 PM I called the Reigate Club today as I am trying to get there for their first night on Wednesday. They are sure are going to get more than they can cope with on the night. Tomorrow they are going to email all those who have registered online (hundreds apparently) and give those who want the chance to respond and book a seat. There is no charge to reserve a seat but it will be "noted" if you fail to turnup.
If you want to be there on first night I suggest you register asap and get booked in. |
