Prewie - that name rings a bell from last night's comp.

Early on, did you get a whole load of chips by catching a muppet straight? And then winning a more conventional pot a few hands later and said 'that one was for the purists' or something after you took a bit of stick for the straight.

I thought that comment was a bit 'blondite'...

Title: Re: Railbirds wanted
Post by: TightEnd on September 08, 2005, 10:21:10 AM
yes Andrew, the muppet straight would be me!!

Details a bit foggy

limped with QJ, two other limpers

J high flop, with a 9

I bet it out of position, others call instantly

turn the 10, open ended straight draw

I get re-raised to set me in

F it, call, half an eye on the football, then the guy behind me re-raises. Oh bananas!l

I'm up against AJ and a set of 9s, I hit the K on the river

got a bit of deserved stick

but I think my comment was

" what goes around comes around, I'm a lucky fish, you'll get me back"

which deflected the boo boys!

then I turn out to have QQ vs JJ which was "one for the purists"

Up to 42k chips chip leader, call the railbirds to come watch

get QQ vs KK, back to 20k and ground it out to final table without ever really threatening

Andrew. what is your screen name on Crypto?

On Will Hill it's Flick, though I wasn't playing last night, was railbirding someone else whilst I watched the football.

details a bit foggy??  That was a very specific description of the  situation - I'd hate to hear you being specific!!    :)

too late guy called my steal raise instead of reraising me so when i hit the flop hard (2nd pair open ended) i went all in and the guy called with AQ (2 overs) hit ace on river i finished 5th

crypto are the dozen or so sites that use the wagerlogic software

I've just watched burnley john give one in his quarter final heads up game from Barcelona

He played a guy from oxford uni, played very well and wore his oppo down through tight , disciplined play ... it was on sky travel .... good job , cos its on freeview... excellent production too

Title: Re: Railbirds wanted
Post by: Ironside on September 10, 2005, 04:10:12 AM
i was top 5 in chips kept getting moved next to bigger stacks who kept wanting to mess with me

so i waited and waited got a pp  raised got raised by chip leader

so i call get a great rag flop so i put him all in he wakes up with a bigger pair

this was the guy that was calling raises and reraising with j7 k3 etc etc

a large paid day ruined by messing with a guy i knew i had to avoid

Title: Re: Railbirds wanted
Post by: bundle on September 10, 2005, 04:16:32 AM
yeah that sucks. I did the very same thing in a live tourney 6 weeks ago, i was 2nd chip leader.told myself dont mess with the big stack and then wind up all in against him, lost. and worst of all, im out on the bubble too.. Didn't play for 2 weeks beating myself up.

Did you get any pay off ?

I can take going on tilt and even the bad beats, but out on the bubble, aarrrrrrrrrrrrrrggggggggggggg

Title: Re: Railbirds wanted
Post by: Ironside on September 10, 2005, 04:21:36 AM
nope 37th 30 paid but i was looking for a top 5 finish had the chips to be able to get there is i didnt throw them into pots with the leaders
