Have to agree, one of the best presents my Mum gave me since leaving home. There's nothing better than jumping into a toasty warm bed.  :)

The internet is one of the best inventions imo

Other things... Cars, Telephones, TV, Lights, Hair straighteners, Digital Camera, Camcorder and Sat Nav.

Hmm, it seems I quite like technology...

I hate being warm and always have all the radiators turned off, even on ice cold days. People who come into my house always make some comment about it being freezing and then come to the conclusion I must be a cheap skate who doesn't want to pay the gas bill  :D

The best invention is the car, plane or a can opener that actually works ( I have bought 3 in the last six months and they are all terrible ) . I might buy a wall mounted electric one in the January sales.  Has anyone got one of these?  are they any good?

Sark, not even the snazzy wall mounted can openers work... they're all useless!

The Nuclear Weapon.

What other invention is able to both prevent AND cause complete worldwide destruction simultaneously?

(Not to mention our only viable weapon (aside from Bruce Willis of course) against the eventual rogue asteroid/comet heading to earth...)

Apart from Mr Nuclear Weapon, my clear 2nd is refrigeration. ICE is civilization. Making things cool in a hot climate is a wonder too oft taken for granted.

the tea bag is a great shout Ace2M.  Don't agree with the elecy blanket, I quite like getting into a cold bed and getting warm.  Football is a great invention.  I think computers are a great invention, they get better and better every ten minutes it seems and they are capeable of so much.
