Title: Omaha hand Post by: Bertpup on November 05, 2006, 03:46:50 AM Well ive been dabbling in the omaha games on stars. The hand that i have the most fear of playing is AAxx however i think that comes from nightmares created by Hi lo. This hand in question i have got up to $170 from $20. I buy in for the minimum my roll is by no means tiny but at the moment thwapping in max buy in i wouldnt be overly confident.

The raiser in question had been a little loose and i put him on KK or same as me with AA. Once the turn came i thought i was up crap creek. When the other guy called my all in i thought it was likely he had a set. What i want to know is once ive raised the flop do i have to fire out again on the turn or slow down now that the K has come? Please feel free to comments on all parts of play. Title: Re: Omaha hand Post by: Rookie (Rodney) on November 05, 2006, 04:47:13 AM I fold on the flop, but maybe thats just me being over cautious? I dont play omaha cash too often, but i do like a game now and again.
Title: Re: Omaha hand Post by: NoflopsHomer on November 05, 2006, 04:51:16 AM Fold on the flop.
Why are you check/raising? You can find out a lot easier where you are by leading out if you do wish to bet. I prefer simply checking here. Title: Re: Omaha hand Post by: MadYank on November 05, 2006, 05:01:32 AM OK lets stat with some PLO basics
1) Unless you re-raise preflop and get it HU preflop the gam doesnt eally start until the flop. 2) 1 Pair in a multiway pot from out of position with no real draw is a TRULY HORRIBLE hand. 3) Once You have pot checkraised and already have one allin caller and another live caller there is just about ZERO chance that your 1 pair is ahead on that turn so firing anotehr bet out on the turn into the unknown sounds like just slaughtering another $60 to me so I wholly agree to check fold mode therr or on the river. Overall reccos for this hand. A) RERAISE preflop I f you are going to play this aggresive on the flop (checkraise the field with one pair) why not reraise preflop to tin out the muckety garabge. B) Check Call or check fold this flop if you have recieved multi way action preflop. C) If you have gotten it HU preflop, then you should fie out on the flop. IF you get pot raised it's prob a fold. If you get called you check/fold the unimproved turn or possibly check calll against the absolute looosest of opponents. D) Try not to get stack involved with 1 pair no draw hands in PLO at any time let alone when in horrid position. Title: Re: Omaha hand Post by: Royal Flush on November 07, 2006, 07:55:34 PM Also if you cant afford to buyin for 100 then move down a level. If you decide to continue your course in the art of the short stack ninja, sitting with 170 when you can't afford 100 seems a tad daft to me!
