Title: Long term vegas accommodation Post by: Woodsey on November 08, 2006, 02:24:40 AM Hi Guys I might have an opportunity to go to vegas with work ( and be playing lots of poker!) for about 3 months next year. I've been a few times before my self but always stayed in the usual hotels and was wondering what options there are for longer term accommodation thats not too expensive.
I need- somewhere thats not a dump, close to casinos (walking to decent poker venues) , broadband internet. It would also be nice to have a gym there aswell although thats not essential. Budget suites is about $220 per week, I dunno where it is, all the other options I found were loads more expensive than this, I reckon $300ish would be a sensible budget. All suggestions welcome so I can check them out. Thanks in advance Title: Re: Long term vegas accommodation Post by: Newmanseye on November 08, 2006, 07:25:17 AM Try www.apartments.com, complete a local search on Vegas and you will find some really nice places to rent withing your budget, The Taxis in Vegas are cheap as chips so you will find somewhere thats close enough and to no expensive.
hope that helps mate Title: Re: Long term vegas accommodation Post by: boldie on November 08, 2006, 09:46:04 AM Hi Guys I might have an opportunity to go to vegas with work ( and be playing lots of poker!) for about 3 months next year. Most people do not realise how dependant people are to having cars in the USA and to be there for 3 months without one is not ideal. You will also be amazed how quickly those taxi fares add up too! Title: Re: Long term vegas accommodation Post by: Woodsey on November 08, 2006, 02:44:34 PM The key issue here is that if I go for it they will efffectively be paying me a lump sum bonus for going, all my expenses will have to come out of that, hence stuff like rental cars are extras I don't want to pay for umless I have to.
The people I will be training will be staying at various venue right in center strip (Bellagio, etc) so for that reason I want to be somewhere I can walk most places ideally. Budget suites are OK if you like living near crack addicts ;tk; Is it that bad? I can see they have more than one location are they all the same? In fact looking at their site it looks as if only 2 of them are close enough (on tropicana). Title: Re: Long term vegas accommodation Post by: Graham C on November 08, 2006, 03:03:25 PM If you promise to play all your poker at one of the big casinos, won't they give you a free suite?
Perhaps I've been watching too much Las Vegas on the tele! Title: Re: Long term vegas accommodation Post by: Woodsey on November 08, 2006, 03:14:50 PM You do get a reduced rate but its generally fairly expensive for a long stay (in fact max stay in most hotels is 2 weeks anyway). But I won't be able to play the required time each day because I have to do some work!
