Title: Call, Reraise of fold?
Post by: Graham C on November 08, 2006, 10:12:35 PM
Latest teaser for me

I called the flop as I was in the sb and getting 8/1 on the money, it's not a bad call I didn't think

8/1?

oops, the turn gave me the flush.  8/1 - 50 cents to call the bb from sb - is that not correct?

edited and sorted out

Anyway, I folded.  I didn't know anything about the opponant but on seeing further hands, I don't know.  I've just seen her go all in preflop for $80 with AJo and make a few other rash descissions

i didn't see that friskygolf4 was in the hand but even so it's 7/1 innit???

lol :D

my 50c in the pot made the pot $4 preflop.  I just took the after entry money for a guide.  7/1 is right isn't it - still value to call isn't it?

i dunno man, you're still playing a pretty crappy hand out of position, I have called them before but i think it's a fold TBH.

fair enough, I folded the raise on the turn.  It is a crappy hand and I don't play them usually....honest :D

you could make good arguements for all 3 options, I probably call tbh. I check the river and call or fold depending on what card comes and how much he bets. This is why I try to fold these preflop it just puts you into sticky situations with a marginal hand out of position.

i wouldn't fold in this spot, either preflop or on the turn. I might fold a hand like Q/4 os or J2os preflop though.

donno what I'd do on the turn, would be based on the flow of the game at the time. Prolly call turn and do funky stuff on the river depending on their bet size.

nothing wrong with the preflop call. Tough spot on the turn. I think I might call there and hope to christ he checks behind on the river.

Had I have called, what would you do on the river though?  A bet is could a attract a raise and I wouldn't want to be putting too much in.  Check/Call depending on bet size?

I am missing something here I think.

Preflop..you play sooted connectors. that's fine. I love hands like that.

I would bet on the flop..but can understand why you don't

How can you not call the turn? you play sooted connectors and your flush hits yet you fold to a reraise?  It's a call for me. I would re-raise here as I want them to bet the river.

If the river comes down and it's not a diamond you check raise IMO. If you are really uncomfortable with the idea that someone else might have the flush or because it's a sooted board you checkcall.

there's no way I'm folding this on the turn for another 9$ in a 21$ pot.

I've been thinking about the hand a bit and do wish I'd have called.  I was worried as my flush was really weak but then the raise could have been a tester to see if I'd have hit I guess.   I should have called, some plays from later that session confirmed things.  I was probably ahead and yes for $9 in a $21 pot, it's a silly fold.

Ta though, I'm always (hopefully) learning.  Cash games are great for making me think.
