Title: Re: Freezeout, Rebuy or doublechance? Post by: Junior Senior on September 09, 2005, 12:54:13 AM i just thought of the value. i could gamble away with 2 rebuys and top up and surely the prize pool would get bigger. If the prize pool was guarenteed to be the same then i would much rather play a freezeout. Right now, i aint playing anything because i quite clearly don't know how!
junior = fish Title: Re: Freezeout, Rebuy or doublechance? Seek help and hope for a cure. Title: Re: Freezeout, Rebuy or doublechance? Post by: redsimon on September 09, 2005, 07:37:03 AM I'd play a £10 PLHE rebuy, but then again if I had only £30 I'd probbaly wait till I have more.
Title: Re: Freezeout, Rebuy or doublechance? Post by: Hawkeye1976 on September 09, 2005, 08:44:34 AM For further options to make your manager like the idea of a freeze-out, point out to him that the casino would make £3 from each player compared to £1, and the turn out would be just as big?
Maybe........ Title: Re: Freezeout, Rebuy or doublechance? Post by: redsimon on September 09, 2005, 09:01:49 AM Not guaranteed the same turnout though....
Title: Re: Freezeout, Rebuy or doublechance? Post by: Scottish Dave on September 09, 2005, 09:19:32 AM £15 NL 1 Re-buy = Only due to my success in last nights ;D ;)
Title: Re: Freezeout, Rebuy or doublechance? Post by: Maroon on September 09, 2005, 09:25:11 AM Yeah, he was worried about lower turnout. There are a lot of students in Brighton who play the £5 rebuy. He liked the idea of the £15 with one rebuy and he suggested a £20 freezeout maybe on alternate weeks but is concerned about numbers dropping off. They are trying to increase numbers at the moment.

We had a £15 NL with 1 rebuy last night & got 54 runners (for Cincinattis as a new club this was a cracking turnout with lots who've not been in before - particularly as the sum total advertising was on here & 1 other poker forum). The club were impressed & are talking about makinng it a regular occurence. We need to look at the structure though - we played the blinds like Nightfly's beginner's night structure and ended up with the last 2 splitting the cash for the top 2 places at 3:30. Possibly Glasgow players play that little bit tighter (cue Colchester Kev ;)). Title: Re: Freezeout, Rebuy or doublechance? Rod the structure was fine until it got to 1k/2k it should then have went to 1500/2000 instead of 1200/1400 & then up in 500s to 2k/4k 2.5k/5k etc If you mess with the structure any earlier it would have turned into a crapshoot pretty quickly Title: Re: Freezeout, Rebuy or doublechance? Post by: Rod Paradise on September 09, 2005, 11:11:09 AM Was more thinking of keeping the strucure - but starting everyone posting an ante once we got to 1000/2000... building the pots up & encouraging more to go for it.
I'll probably ask on here for advice on that. Title: Re: Freezeout, Rebuy or doublechance? Post by: AdamM on September 09, 2005, 11:18:34 AM £10 LIMITED rebuy game like we have at Notts. 1st prize is between £900 and £1000 for 110 runners but £30 / £40 is very affordable
