Not sure about the call, even if he's a maniac he's bound to get some cards once in a while. Personally, I'd play against people like that even tighter than against anyone else. But much more important: Who is HoosierLuke and why is he feeling happy??

 :dontask:

Bad call.  Have a look at Pabs hand history he has posted about on internet poker i know cash is different from tournament but you may learn how to play middle of the road pocket pairs.

I know its a bad call, but is it justified, that was the question.

I usually play "no set no bet" however this guy was continually calling of his stack with Ace high and king high, like I said he was on his 5th reload, If you look closely it took me all of my allotted time to make the decision.

not justified if it is a bad call.

U r out of position, and let's say you did call, bet when he re-raises you, it is fold to me.

What you want against those people is to hit your flop hard and take their money.  Yes u might call their raises, but his raise is 9xbb which by maniac standards is high, were his previous raises smaller? it is all down to observation of their behaviour.  You  missed you flop, you are done with this hand.  The reality is that this what maniacs do, they turn the whole table on tilt, and as a result when they wake up with the hand they get paid off handsomely.

The pre flop of 10x the BB was his usual Mo fro AK or KQ, KJ etc.

The all in on the flop is what got me as he did the same thing in previous hands and lost his stack each time, last time he did it to me He had KJ and I had the set so thats an easy call ever easier when no kings or Jacks are on the board.

Given his Modus operandi I was sure he was overplaying big cards.

By the way he ended up giving most of his stack to me a few hands later, giving it the usual push with fresh air.

if what you say about him is true, the call is fine.

then you then you had a right to make a call.

the only problem is that sometimes when 'they get you,' your the timing might be wrong.

As this is a cash game u can reload and play again, in mtt/stt very often this call might end your journey and when pple get frustrated against maniacs they call with all sort of hands and often get busted.

That happy thing happens when people change the emotion on their avatars.
